Can someone tell me do you have to be at a certain point in the game before you can free roam?

Haven't played it yet, but I assume you need to go through the White Orchard prologue/tutorial area's main quest before you're let loose on the world.

Tutorial area shouldn't last long. No idea in terms of numbers. The prologue area however is different from the tutorial area, reports say the prologue area lasts a good 4-5 hours. After that the world opens up to the player.

There will be a map that is designated as a prologue area, the player cannot leave that area until they finish the main storyline contained within it.

Been trying to avoid spoilers, but it seems like a basic introduction area, both to the story and controls etc.

prologue area is still pretty big though you can roam some there too

Well I guess I can waste 3 good hours on the Prologue area before i go to college for 2 days straight whitout playing the game... yey.....*sob*
