FSR 4 - WHEN ?

+
When FSR4 ? - DO you hate your customers from AMD ?
You loosing chance to get better opinion. But how I see , you prefer get worse opinions.
FSR4 is must have. IMMEDIATELY

Sure, because you totally expect every new feature to be implemented in a 4 year old game right away ;). Especially when its an open world game where a lot of things can go wrong if you prematurely implement something.

And no, I don't know if it will be added but it's not something anyone should demand like that.

Certainly I guess.
But I can understand why people are getting impatient: The API compatible FSR 3.1 has been out since mid 2024.

Oh, and BTW, Phantom Liberty, and, hence, also the complete edition, was not release "4 years ago", but in autumn 2023.

And, of course, CD Projekt never seems to have a problem to support Nvidias latest technologies even before they are released to the public.

As you might have noticed when you're launching the game, Nvidia and CDPR have a partnership. Meaning that CDPR "have to" include all the Nvidia last techs and Nvidia "use" Cyberpunk as a showcase for their new techs.
So obviously, CDPR don't have any problem to support Nvidia techs, because they work together ;)

Now wouldn't it be nice if they also workded with AMD tech? That's what people are asking for,

The chip set within series X/S and PS5 isn't capable of FSR 4. FSR 4 is AI-supported and requires certain instruction units. These are missing. According to AMD, attempts will be made to make this available to the older generation, but it is currently not known when. In the case of cyboerunk, it would be great if they at least implemented FSR 3.1. There are already dozens of threads on the subject. CDPR is not currently commenting on this, and there is still no general timetable as to whether/what will come next and when.

As far as I know if they implement FSR 3.1. the game becomes driver compatible with FSR 4.
That's true. An upgrade to 3.1 would also bring a lot to the game. But as has been mentioned several times in the forum, CDPR is beholden to NVIDIA. So I don't think much will change there.

Isn't RYZEN logo showing up when opening the game? It just seems AMD CPU marketing team is much better than the GPU one...

DLSS is superior, so understandable.
It is open-source? No. Is it hardware agnostic? No. XeSS & FSR are and Intel as well as AMD owners pay exactly the same price for the game. This is simply discrimination.

No idea, maybe on PC, but Nvidia appear everywhere on all platforms, for sure:cool:

Is AMD one of cyberpunk's sponsors? No.
I'm not saying they shouldn't support AMD features because of this. I'm just saying that CDPR and Nvidia have been collaborating for years and Nvidia has been sponsoring CDPR games since TW2. So it's obvious they're going to work more on the Nvidia stuff. Besides, Nvidia themselves are using Cyberpunk to showcase their new technologies. This is a major reason for why the game is getting support for newer Nvidia tech.

It is open-source?
MIT's involvement with the development of FSR, lead to it becoming open source. On the other hand, Nvidia has been doing all the research and development of DLSS themselves so they have full control over the product and choose to license it.

DLSS is not superior on cards that don't support DLSS, so what kind of argument is that.

It's the kind of argument where 80-90% of the market is Nvidia cards, and devs put their resources where they have the most benefit.

I'd like to see better FSR support in CP2077, but it has to be noted that AMD has such a low market share that their features are naturally going to be quite secondary in priority. Not to mention this game was an Nvidia showcase title.

AMD CPUs have a far larger market share than their GPUs. It's much easier to market to something 50% of users have that smokes the competition than something 10% of users have that has generally weaker features than the competition.
