Well, let's say I don't envy Flash right now.

It started like that, then it escalated because a person just couldn't accept that I might have thought out my points better than he/she did. Talk to them, not me. I stated my piece clearly and concisely, all they did was keep responding with increasingly less effective "counter arguments". I would also like to add that the only "hostile" action I took was posting my little chart, which I admit I took great pleasure in doing. The rest was just simple debate.

10/10 Would read again. That was quite amusing.

This is a friendly or not so friendly message , I guess it depends on your point of view .

Cease the hostilities now . This thread should be for the discussion of the mod and the listing of it`s bugs which i`m sure Flash will correct to the best of his abilities .

If you have a suggestion you would like to make then please list it . But by no means will there be a discussion of whether it is a good idea or not by other members . Flash would be the one to decide whether or not it fits the views of his mod .

Done, good sir. It was rather childish of me to indulge in such behaviour and I apologize to everyone, that includes Xangi.

It was disgusting. Exchange of ideas ruined by combativeness.

I would like to see the features of the mod packaged into modules if possible, now or later. I think the responsiveness at least is a significant enough accomplishment to be something everyone would want. The other changes, even once the bugs are ironed out, probably won't be as universally desired.

It was the Internet. Game changes in a great game cause strong feelings. No harm done, moderator showed, moved along.

This may be a stupid question, as I'm not familiar with Redkit, but would chopping up the mod into optional segments then force a restart with fresh saves? In fact, what degree of change would necessitate a fresh game?

Because if I do the prologue one more time, I may cry.

Isn't there an option for which parts of the game you'd like to implement the mod? At least that's the impression I got from the check box menu.

Well, which parts of the game, yeah, but not which parts of the mod.

SO you can have the mod active in Chap 1 and 3 but not 2. No idea what that does to your saves.

This would be ideal, but then I suspect at that point Flash will come on here and tell us to mod the bloody thing ourselves. And deservedly so. I'm at odds with certain changes but it's his project, not mine. For now I'll wait till he releases the new patch and give it another try.

-edit. This is what I get for skimming. I thought you meant which features of the mod to enable.

Yeah, I don't mind taking the mod as a whole as long as all the bugs are swatted out. I'm just going to wait now, no rush, no biggie.

Parry is a little breaking gameplay system because of the very slow Geralt's Quen animation, that sometimes make you hit although you've already pressed the Parry button, but nothing of what you mention happens to me.

I am not talking about the Quen block. I am talking about the auto parry chance that's supposed to happen then facing your opponent and not attacking.

It's definitely not working for me at all. I assume you don't actually have to have Quen active that would just mean Flash removed the active block completely with no replacement....

  • Enemy parrying works the same way as Geralt's - if it happens, it happens instantly.
  • Fast reaction time is the same as in vanilla game.
  • Geralt's chance to parry is equal to:
    99% - 5%*(hitCounter-1) - 10% if it's a flanking attack.
Hit counter increases by 1 with each parried hit and resets to zero after 2 seconds of not parrying attacks.
  • Geralt won't parry if he's performing an offensive action. It's either offense or defense - the same as in vanilla game.
  • One shotting on dark difficulty? The same as in vanilla game.

This seem's to confirm it's broken in my game and not working at all. Haven't successfully parried once and I'm standing in front of enemies locked on and not attacking...

Any idea why this is happening? or a way to fix it?

It works fine for me, I don't lock on or anything just stand and Geralt parries automatically. I just face the enemy.

Alright, finally captured it. Riposte doesn't work at all on elves, they block every time. Also get rid of riposte while fighting monsters, it's useless(nekkers are just dodging it) and sometimes Geralt is performing riposte for no reason getting me killed.

Just ran and checked again because, you know, it'd been awhile since I fought a human. Nope. Auto-parry fired one out of four times.

Well yeah, doesn't always parry it's percentage based. I was just describing how it works for me, hoping it might help someone.

There is a potion (maribor forest i guess?) that significantly increases chance of parry.
Also Geralt have problem with parrying certain weapons. Never try to parry knight with 2hander. Messing with guys equipped with halberds is also not very good idea.

Edit: another thing i noticed is that geralt's spinning move is dealing only 1 hit. That got me killed few times. Make it like it was before (with reduced dmg 5 times to keep balance?) or just replace it because this move takes way to much time to perform giving enemies time to kill Geralt. Because of this move being broken i started to use more of heavy hits, they are more reliable at this point.

I worked on this tonight and fixed it. Well kinda... Seems to be an issue with some other mod I have installed. So I started fresh with a new install and the FCR on top and now it's working fine. Although i was not getting any parries at all wasn't intermittent like you are reporting.

I have other issues but this is the one that was annoying me the most.

Most of my other concerns seem to be getting addressed in the next update. But I really want to play with a gamepad and strafing is so touchy it's impossible and breaks as soon as you hold back. Would be nice to see some tweaks to this.

Otherwise I think this mod is going in the right direction to really improve the game but obviously it needs a little work.

Thanks Flash

About bug with Philippa's face: when i told Philippa about dragon's dream in act 2, her face returned. It's still disappearing whenever she's talking but otherwise it's there. For now :)

Wonder if there will be any problems when importing the save to Witcher 3... If in The Witcher 3 there will be skills and weapons or armor imported from The Witcher 2 will they be buggy becasue of this mod? Just something to think about.
