hmmm ... right now, probably an unholy amount, but that will fade (someday) ... but i've always been a huge trivia buff ... useless facts just seem to find purchase in my addled brain and stay there :)

Yes that's the one I meant and there is an other portrait which has much similarity with Leonardo da Vinci.

Not really an easter egg I suppose, but does anyone else think that the detective in Vizima Raymond Maarloeve in the English language version is heavily modelled on Jeremy Irons? His manner reminds me a lot of Irons, especially his role as Tiberius in Kingdom of Heaven, where of course his character was based (rather loosely) on Raymond of Tripoli.

Maarloeve is one of RED team, Adam Badowski. You can see more REDs in game here:http://www.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?topic=2543.msg227435#msg227435

I meant the voice actor in the English version not the character model in a physical sense. I knew the character was modelled after a developer but it's the voice that sounds like a Jeremy Irons impression to me.

Wow, that's so cool. Thanks for posting that link, for those of us who don't speak Polish!(Some of those characters I thought were really attractive, and others I thought were very homely -- I'm glad I didn't say anything in public about which was which. :) )

Well, maybe it 's been mentioned before, but the 11 years old Abigail Williams was the main accuser of Salem witches. Now, ironically she's reborn as a witch?

Wow. How on earth did you come to learn that little fact? I live less than an hour from Salem, and most of the people around here couldn't tell you the names of the accusers!

Er...apart from the historical records http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Abigail_Williams, (Note I don't consider wikipedia as a valid reference, but it does include the photo of Abigail's witness statement), Abigail Williams is also a character in Arthur Miller's classic play 'The Crucible', based to a degree on the witch trials (and of course a commentary on the communist witch hunts of the McCarthy era in the US).

Nothing wrong with knowing 'er from the play. A lot better than knowing from this: http://www.metal-archives.com/band.php?id=73633Not sure what's worse, using poor Abigail as a band name or that logo.

Right! I've read "The Crucible" last year and had to write a big essay on it. It does sort of seem ironic :D

Looked though the 21 pages written so far and didn't see this one, so...about the history of the Tower in the Swamp.It reminded me of this line from Monty Python and the Holy Grail; though I think the Swamp Tower only "sank into the swamp" twice.[Scene 14: The Tale of Sir Lancelot] Herbert's Father: "Listen, lad. I built this kingdom up from nothing. When I started here, all there was was swamp. Other kings said I was daft to build a castle on a swamp, but I built it all the same, just to show 'em. It sank into the swamp. So, I built a second one. That sank into the swamp. So I built a third one. That burned down, fell over, then sank into the swamp. But the fourth one...stayed up! And that's what you're gonna get, lad: the strongest castle in these islands."{Transcribed by Adam R. Jones}

Actually a friend of mine took that monologue as a auditioning piece and as I just entered the swamps with my new enhanced Geralt, I noticed the line he delivers at the one broken tower and thought the same thing :)Pretty funny if one things about it ;D

Wish I had the time to read every page of this, but the few pages I have read are great and very revealing.Anybody else already mention Kalkstein explaining his discovery of the atom and how "everything is made of tiny particles just floating around at will" then Geralt gives a codescending "Yeah, sure Kalkstein."I laughed my arse off. ;D

Need to give an honorary mention of a comment in another thread that described Kalkstein as looking like someone from the Planet of Apes. He does look like one of the chimps at that.

Has anyone seen Triss whip out her little sword and fight off a kikimore? After a few jumps and bites she says "You just pissed off a sorceress"When The Lady of the Lake is attacked by a wyvern she says "Be damned" Good stuff DC
