[do the cdprojekt programmers wanted to get the witchers story looking like the jews?? just curious ,because iv heard the book talking about witchers and ive found the word "pogrom".....
The word "pogrom" stands for organized aggression and hostility against any ethnic or religious minority. Although the jews have been subject to many pogroms in their history, the word is not tied to them alone.

Ha! The Professor (or Raplh Bluenden) is also a very old enemy.

Uh, that name in the brackets... is that the name of the voice actor? or the real name of Professor in the books?Sorry for this dumb question, i am still waiting for my books ... so no clue...I am still looking for some English Voice Actors who spoke who but to no avail.
His real name in the book. Wierd, really, because Geralt was supposed to have killed him...man, that blow must've incapacitated him for years. Also, the count Joachim De Vett was the comnnader of army group "Verden" in the big war with Nilfgaard. I love the fact that we dealt with him. ;D\And see? More and more Nilfgaardian ties. I bet the real culprits behing this mess are hiding there, as usual.EDIT:Jackpot!!Warning, book spoilers related to the game storyline.First of all, there was a major plot to kill Emgyr var Emreys before he does any harm to the empire. Mostly it was composed of noblemen...but one person's name was Leuwaarden! It's not Deklan, but I'm quite sure they are related. Besides, this Leuwaarden is also part of a secretive organisation...a trade corporation (or syndicate), and one with a lot of political influence. He has a secret sign: a golden medallion with a burning star inside a triangle. I'm sure you remember Deklan showing Geralt some sign.Second: Cyrilla, while visiting random worlds and times and places brought with her a flea. Not a normal flea, mind you...she must've visited Europe during the Black Plague...and yes, right after that she travelled to her time, to Nilfgaard, more precisely, to a port, where that flea jumped in the hair of a sailor...a sailor, whose ship was called "Katriona". Yes, the plague has been brought accidentally. And finally there is something which proves again my little pet theory of nilfgaardian involvement -it's the fact that Emgyr's guard had silver salamanders as their symbol. They are even called "Salamanders" at one point. 'nuff said. Some other similarities:The hospital scene (with the elves coming in and trying to kill all the wounded) is almost exactly the same as described in the book: the field hospital in Brenna, where Shani was. And the one who came in was Yaevinn (surprised? he's a long time scoia'tael, that bastard). Except that he saw that the hospital treated nilfgaardian wounded, too, and went away. The succubus quest in Act IV is almost the same as in the last Witcher book. Geralt chose the money - didn't kill the succubus, and let Regis deal with her - she's the Lady of the Night, I believe. The very stylish sentence about pissing against a tornado (or a thunderstorm) which in the game is iirc attributed to the Professor comes from the archvillain (or one of them) of the books.Oh and... since Yennifer's not dead, it would be awesome to see her later on.

During my second replay I've found some interesting stuff I was too lazy to be concerned about before. For example, those strange portraits you can see on Raymond's desk. Does anybody know who those people are? I'm pretty sure it's another easter egg. :)And the strange sign I've seen on the Hairy Bear's Inn wall. I think I've seen it before in the game, but I don't remember what it was associated with. So if anyone knows something about it, please give your opinions on the matter. :)

Noticed them, too. I thought the portraits were devs or something, but I don't have their photos to confirm it. And the sign looks somewhat like the one belonging to the Cult of the Lionheaded Spider (or whatever it's called). In fact, I believe a lot of stuff related to those guys was cut out. I mean, they invented something (a cult with its whole background) which wasn't in the books just for one random cave? Highly improbable, I'd say.

I also thought those faces might belong to the devs, I'm just curious if anybody knows to whom exactly ;D

3) The potion which allows to see invisible was named after some De Vries person (at least in my variant of game). It may be a reference to Peter De Vries from Frank Herbert's "Dune". He was a mentath of Harkonnen house, and was known for his hallucinogenic drugs addiction (which allowed him to see through other's plotting sometimes, and sometimes predict the future).

Just another something funny I immediately thought of when you mentioned Peter De Vries... De Vries is a dutch last name, and there's a well known crime reporter named Peter R. de Vries, who is also a bit of an investigator and in doing so has brought to light a lot of information that caused cases that had already been dropped by real authorities to be reopened and solved. He also sees things most other people don't ;)What I also don't get is nobody has mentioned Vesna HOOD going to her grandmother's house and being plagued by canine beasts on the way there. Clearly a reference to little red riding hood. Though the riding part should be taken figuratively in this case ::)

That sign I've posted surely isn't the one of the Lionhead Spider cult - I've checked on it yesterday. So this question remains open. As for Vesna Hood - totally agree, I've also though it might be the red riding hood reference on my first playthrough, though I completely forgot about it.@Kaeldorn - Great one about Peter De Vries :)

The Alchemist and Geralt's conversation about the "Riddle of Steel." Taken from Conan the Destroyer, I believe with James Earl Jones. Cracked me up. I saw others in the game, just didn't think to write them down.

put the textures to the max sometimes, unfortunatelly i can't play the whole game like that, but just in kaer morhen one can find some interesting things here is just some of them:now: this enormous moth is from gothic i would say. in library one can find this sketch of a solar system except it looks like the moon rounds the fourth planet. that tapestry seems very familiar but i can't realy tell where i saw it, seems to be a part of national treasure or somth. i'm sure it exists irl. You can also find a map with some red and blue croses on it... like a treasures would be buried there . and a lot of different interesting things. hotn that looks like boromir's, some animal trophies from extinguishe species, including a famous polar tiger :) (!) ...in the werevolwes hideout look at the collection of weapons it is clear for me he has slaughtered some diablo2 assasins.as it comes to dialogues:eskel and lambert are talking about what to do with a frightener just before you are to drink the potion and enter kaer morhen for the first time, go figure out yourself what they want to do :Da little boy in the act4 village will tell you about alvin teleporting himself to the past and to the future and ask you if it is true, you answer him to not belive in everything alvin says, than he says i knew this moron lied to me, and runs away. small kids there have a very funny games they play between themselvesit seems to be an additional proof that a=gm

The 'Bloedzuiger' monster - bloedzuiger is the Dutch word for leech. The monster looks very similar to a leech standing upright...

I don't know if someone has mentioned this before, but in act 2, you find a "mysterious man" standing outside of Thaler's house at night. When you talk to him, he says "You didn't see me!" and you gain 100 experience points.

In Act III when asking Kalkstein if he knows how to cure lycanthropy, he says that once he made a potion which turned some noblewoman into a hawk - it's a reference to a "Ladyhawke" movie (1985, starring Rutger Hower and Michelle Pfeifer). And, one more - in "The Last Wish" book by Sapkowski there's a moment when Geralt finds two dead people in the woods - a merchant and a women in white dress and white hood. In the game, there are two corpses in the swamps (the ghouls spawn near them all the time), one of which looks like a standard TW merchant and the other is a women in white dress and white hood. Coincidence?

Nice! Never read the books, but I played the classic discworld adventures on the PC. Rincewind and the people he meets are hilarious :pGotta love all those references. Even made my comic for the contest after the little red riding hood reference, and they picked it ;D
