Time is irrelevant for fans of Ciri !
...but if I had to guess I'd say Q3/Q4 2014.

The absence of Microsoft support does not render an operating system useless. I still have to support end users who have goddamn NT4 servers and can't be talked out of them.Kyriene said:That is most likely a place holder since no one else seems to have a date for it. So I wouldn't put to much stake in that date at this point.
*edit* Note also that the page states for Windows XP/Vista which will not even be supported platforms by Microsoft by that time.
Microsoft non-support does not mean the operating system will cease running or will not run new software or drivers. In that sense, Microsoft non-support does not invalidate or render not credible a statement that a game will support Vista.Kyriene said:My statement was based on the Microsoft support lifecycle found here which shows that Vista support will cease except for extended support from Microsoft in April. And actually Support for vista except for extended support has already ceased. Not on whether or not the game would be playable on it.
(Disclaimer: I am a Microsoft Employee)
I agree with the Q4 2014 release thought. My point was that the release date in that article is most likely a placeholder and the fact that they are showing OS's that are considered no longer supported supports that. How did this get totally off that ?GuyN said:Microsoft non-support does not mean the operating system will cease running or will not run new software or drivers. Anyway, I've always expected a fourth quarter 2014 release, and so far, I haven't seen any reason to change that expectation.
It's Amazon. They have no actual concern for accuracy in their advertising copy.Kyriene said:I agree with the Q4 2014 release thought. Yes, they are not. But somebody actually had to authorize pre-orders, and set a price. I really doubt Amazon would do it completely on its own, without any go ahead from someone with a proper authority. So this date is an estimate but at least official (or semi-official) estimate. I would expect the date change to some later date, but definitely not the 1st-2nd quarter. The cover is a place-holder, as usual.GuyN said:It's Amazon. They had to have authorized it, but they will announce things like a date on the flimsiest of unconfirmed information.vivaxardas said:Yes, they are not.
