Future fake Ads in game.

First, I hate real world in game advertising in any game. Even if it "fits" I find real world advertising annoying. However, I really like fake advertising that are in games that are tied to products/services that are in the game. There were some really neat ones in the books.

Something like this would be cool. link to the author http://viko-br.deviantart.com/ I like it, it is something that I would expect in a time when cloning is common place.

I really like the in-game adverts from the books. I also quite liked the ads in Mass Effect 2, the ones in the citadel that customised themselves to whoever was near them. Great concept.

Do we think there is a place for Blipverts in 2077?

As they are also very efficient in winning the publics attention I'd like to see ads on screens big and small all over town

like some ad for premium braindances somewhat similar to this:

Or maybe like this (of course there wouldn't be just ads for really expensive stuff)

And the devs and CDPR could also do well and decide to create fake websites of Militech, Arasaka, Raven etc. kind of like what Rockstar did with Los Santos enterprises during their pre-GTA V release period.

I immediately started thinking these Robocop commercials. But maybe they're bit too tongue on the cheek for CP77?

I think that is exactly the kind of material that we need in 2077. Not too humorous but not too serious. Tongue in cheek is fine.

The only thing is, that if something is advertised, I actually would like to buy it (if it is a product) or use it (if it is a service.). A new cybernetic leg ad? I want to go to a store/chop shop and buy it to use. An advertising for a rockerboy concert in town on (x day), I want to be able to order a E-Ticket and go to the show. An android robot maid/buttler/security/companion being advertised? I want to order it (if I got the credits) and be able to customize it from the website with all the features, looks, add ons..etc that I would want.

Yeah, I agree, if the game advertises it, I should be able to get my hands on it.... still mad I never got my hands on a Maibatsu Monstrosity from GTA 3

I think it is pretty much given that there will be adds. Trailer had them, and cyperpunk cities are pretty much always shown to have big screens with adds and neon lights.
But yeah make it about products / services we can buy in game and not real world items.

It would also be great if we had something like when in SR2 (do we reference that game a lot?) you saw an ad of anything: fast food, emergency services, etc. with a phone number, and you dialed it and you got a response, someone was sent to your position. It was so cool experimenting with that because, other than the assassination activities nobody told you that was a feature, it was something for the curious players to exploit. Then Volition said "fuck it, sandbox games shouldn't reward exploration, they should be about hand holding the player through jokes we feel proud about".

It was so fun discovering an ad for Voodoo in the campus, dialing and, voila, a certain zombie homie joined you! XD

Now, I really liked that EVE has an in-game web browser. I would really like to see a utility like that in 2077, but rather than accessing the real internet I would like to have a replica based on the games database. I want to see an ad for something, then look it up 'online'. I would like to have some form of simplified interface for this, rather than having to jack in to the net fully in the same manner as a netrunner.

Also, QR codes, thsi is an amazing technology that could well have a similar utility in 2077. Perhaps using some fictional graphic code system?

if they current trend continues, we'll have cyberpunk equivalents of beyonce and kanye west being absolutely terrible on screen and their music will be blared at the louded volume at the player. please do this.

I wouldn't mind 'occasional' specialised advertising, like the way it was done in mass Effect 2. If I had adverts shouting my name at me every 2 seconds I would probably kill someone for real.

As for the tentacle porn ads... No thanks...

Ah, now I get what you mean. Yeah, holograms are cool, just about any 'projection' method would be fine in my book. Obviously the better quality display types would be around in the corp zones, while cracked screens and posters would be all you get in the deprived areas.

I dread the day they can actually do this, and unfortunately I think I may live long enough to see it.
