I could honestly see different types of gambling as good time killers and engaging fun activities that add meaningful (side) activities to the game.

It is something I did extensively in Fallout New Vegas and GTA:Online when it became available.

Gambling is actually terrible and a dirty business in general, but hell, that's a video game, a singleplayer one, how harmless can it be? I'm all for Night City gambling, that's cyberpunk after all, what kinda decadence of humanity it is without gambling and stuff? I honestly hope to see A LOT of opportunities for that - legal (or semi-legal) casinos, bets, underground pit fits (preferably with an option to take part in one AND fix the fight for some eddies), maybe even blood sports (something like an announcement board somewhere in the net or combat zones with people to kill within a given time frame, with no reward for missing the deadline or other conditions), etc.

But the lack of any or all of that isn't going to make the game any worse, though. But that would be definitely welcome and, in my opinion, fitting in the setting of cyberpunk.

Poker please. Even dice poker would be acceptable if cards are no longer feasible due to implants, cybernetic, you know, cyborg related eye stuff that could be used to cheat during a card game.

I just hope there's different gambling environments... like some high class, luxury type areas...

and then some back alley, keep your hand on your pistol, we actually might get in an in game shootout if I push X, type of area.

Keep us on our toes but don't deprive us from the finer things in life, like gambling and hookers.

Hell... even in GTA 5 they had to cut the casino out of the game...
Umm the casino is not cut from GTA 5 it was just something they wanted to add in later. Infact main activity in GTA online right now focuses on the casino as its the most profitable and newest main activity

Citizen notice: Illegal gambling events may be prone the police intervention and prosecution.

In all seriousness, fingers crossed, that we get to see classic (or modern variations of) gambling and comparable side activities like pool.

We all know that gambling in videogames are a no-go. Hell... even in GTA 5 they had to cut the casino out of the game...
This is bcz of the online aspect.. sooo

Well, casino IS in GTA 5 online... but its games are kind of a joke, mostly games of pure chance.

RDR2 has real texas hold-em with a limit; which you can play with other people or computer. And blackjack also if memory servers ( I dont play it)

Its not profitable because of the games though. Nor is the casino heist most profitable iirc

TL;DR : online gambling is illegal in most countries

I am fairly certain this is other way around... there are few where it may be illegal but as a whole its allowed more often than not. However, it may be controlled by some strict laws (because taxman wants your money).

Ok, I just changed my vote from yes to no. The reason being: I have no intention of gambling ingame with games of chance. Having math background I know how stupid it is, as you are throwing money away in essence. RDR2 has real poker which is different, since it maintains a skill element to it. I guess you could say the same for Gwent in Witcher. But GTA5 online casinos games are pure chance which is why I have zero interest in them.

While it makes sense that the world of Night city would have gambling... Im going to leave that to the NPCs. Because I dont care about that kind of gambling, I'm voting no.

Maybe if you introduced betting in a skill-based endeavour for example racing it might be different... but I dont associate that with what we normally call "gambling". I guess it depends on the definition.

I would rather the devs spent the effort on something different, such as decoration options for V's apartment..

Gambling, absolutely yes. Gambling has to be the most underdeveloped aspect of the big open world games IMO. Possibilities of major tension are endless and would offer safe environment to really push the limit.

By gambling I can see different types of - skill based No-limit poker type of gambling, Russian Roulette, Gwent type, etc. Witcher 3 had good skill based gwent so I hope CDprojectred can figure something up. I would prefer to see optional gambling, not story based and, this is very important, with major consequences. Go big or go limbless.

Skip gwent, stick with poker.

You don't have to make up a new card game gwent style, stick to poker. Simple 5 card, Texas Hold em style poker.

Blackjack is a good one too.

Don't want to hear a thing about Red Dead. Rockstar doesn't own the rights to poker and blackjack appearing in RPG's.

Honestly I see most gambling in Cyberpunk being more like underground boxing match type deal where you bid on one of 2 that think have best chance of winning based on what can learn about them

Anything that resembles the underground fight scene in Game Night, is a win in my book.

"I knew it existed!"

I believe in one of the previews I could see two muscle bound guys playing "egyptian senet" it's a bit like checkers, you have to get all pieces HOME without hitting the river (I cannot remember, I have the Egyptian Senet on steam)
