GTA online lets you gamble on horses and play most common casino games.

Cyberpunk I would be willng to bet will have many "game" related gambling too maybe not ones we familiar with completely but also im sure there will be underground prize fights we can find and bet on

Ok, I just changed my vote from yes to no. The reason being: I have no intention of gambling ingame with games of chance. Having math background I know how stupid it is, as you are throwing money away in essence. RDR2 has real poker which is different, since it maintains a skill element to it. I guess you could say the same for Gwent in Witcher. But GTA5 online casinos games are pure chance which is why I have zero interest in them.

While it makes sense that the world of Night city would have gambling... Im going to leave that to the NPCs. Because I dont care about that kind of gambling, I'm voting no.

Maybe if you introduced betting in a skill-based endeavour for example racing it might be different... but I dont associate that with what we normally call "gambling". I guess it depends on the definition.

I would rather the devs spent the effort on something different, such as decoration options for V's apartment..

So you want to restrict the liberties in Night City? that can't happen right? ;)

I think there will be many ways to gamble in Night City. Such as casinos, pachinkos, billiards and so on.

By this point we have seen the casino (see image above), and CDPR has discussed people burning eddies at the casino or taking out a loan to live like you are rich for one night. Gambling is part of that seedy side of life that is right in line with cyberpunk 2020, red, and Night City in 2077; what with all the gang run businesses, etc. We've seen pictures of people sitting around playing games (see shots from pacifica) we've heard about the tiger claws running backroom businesses (lore/art book) and we know that gambling is one of the criminal operations that the gangs of night city get involved with (tabletop books). Now is this a gambling game? No, this isn't a real life simulator as CDPR has stated multiple times.

But will we most likely see some sort of game we can play? Sure, why not... Now can you figure out an exploit to make tons of cash via gambling? Don't know, but if you do, let us know.

Yes please, hit me with some blackjack, dealer :ok:

And include a bug like they have in GTA Online, so that I can profit massively from it :p

Even assuming gambling would be strictly in-game, I don't see how it would make for anything other than poor gameplay that incentivizes exploitable savescumming. Usually how it works in my experience is; gamble max amount, lose, reload until win. The game is already riddled with this problem when it comes to random weapons and I wouldn't like more reasons to break immersion.

oh the weirdness of human society .....where we can invent simulated imagination worlds in digital form, and whole-heartedly embrace the concept of arming our avatars to the teeth and blowing the heads nuts and guts out of in game human, humanoid, or animal opponents and crushing innocent digital bystanders with fast cars, but draw the line at simulating having sex or gambling.. without real world backlash, untold hysterics, fuss and controversy...

As for gambling I'd love to have V dressed up for a night at a swish casino, sipping third person animation martinis in a neon see thru dress and heels, and dropping eddies like bottle caps onto the 2077 roulette table, or sitting to play blackjack as part of the immersive lifestyle... excited crowds of NPCs gathering to watch heavy hitter games, the joy and loss of win or lose, (all casino life is here), the glamorous host/hostesses in playtime gear, joy toys and good timers, gold diggers and zillionaires, distraught losers and champagne swilling winners, the security, intrigues, even Night City's own 'Mr Bond' cameo playing a hand or two at the tables...and sub plots, missions and the exchange of secrets.... yes let's have this glamour...

I wouldn't want to see detached pop up 'mini-games' and micro transactional devices that break the 4th wall and throw us out of the game world, or demand RL payments of any kind, just see gambling in many forms be a natural integral part of Night City, be that on races, casinos, fights or two digital flies crawling up a skyscraper window.... as long as it's all for 'eddies' and there is no RL implication or means to lose or profit outside of the game itself, why should this not be as normal a part of the cyberpunk projection as all the other ways to have fun in this imagined world?

I’d be down for being able to bet on Robot fights or boxing matches that weren’t just quest related.

Like how in Elder Scrolls: Oblivion we could bet on Blue Team or Yellow Team in arena matches.

Tricky to implement in-game where all can be hacked. I guess dice and cards could work, not machines
Edit not even cards since you can read them from the back theoretically

I'm down for more side activities to do around NC. Though I'm surprised that we didn't get much in terms of arcade games. Or Pachinko. Like there's Pachinko parlors all around the city and I can't play any. Let V have some use for the amount of EDs they accumulate and succumb to Pachinko addiction.
