Game broken - Vergen Besieged

At the part where I need to run up the wall and turn the wheel to pour oil. It's turned sideways in the wall. I can't interact with it. Loading previous saved games does not fix the problem.

Kind of sucks, because it took a long time to get here.

did you start a new game or have saves then updated to EE

Have saved and then steam auto updated me to EE apparently.

If the direction this conversation is going is that "old saves are incompatible with EE," that is an absolutely unacceptable answer.

Well, I agree, as an answer it sucks, but it is currently the answer most likely to be true. Others have had this and other problems with saves carried over.

Is it a mistake, or is it just a too-bad-start-over foreseen consequence of the EE?

In other words, will it be patched or are we SOL?

This is supposed to be a patch, not an entirely new game. This is rediculous that old saves are incompatible. I gave CDPR my fair share of money, it's pretty messed up I can't even finish the game.

I started from my Act 2 save from June, and I haven't touched the game since then. The game ran flawlessly on my machine until it decided to crash at the transition from the ending to the credits.

I think the saves auto-updated to EE if I was able to run from a June save with no problems until the end.

Smart thing to do guys is to just downgrade to patch 2.0. EE is supposed to have better graphics and better performance, I don't see any improvement on the graphics and the performance has actually gotten worse. This was released way too early.

The preformance for me has improved, and the graphics is more than likely more gloom, but as I've said before I've had little problems with EE. Love the update and the added extended endings, the side quests, but the credits need to go faster.

Well, no one is gonna get passed the Vergen Besieged "Activate Dwarven Mechanism" using an old save. I don't even know if you can get passed it with a new game on EE. Any body have confirmation on that?

I can confirm the issue. This is a Gamebreaker glitch and should be fixed ASAP by CDProjectRED.
I'm currently 40 hours in and i won't start a new game for at least some time.

Waiting for an official answer.

Was that from an old save or did you start a new game with EE?

Old save from the start of act 2.It might work alright with a post EE save but that definitely NOT a solution.

I agree, but I'm curious to see if it's happening post EE because the game worked fine up until that part.

I posted in an earlier thread about this, but this one seems to have more staying power. I have the same problem and I have only been able to put about 20 hours into the game since January due to time limitations. I am not starting over as it will take me until June just to get back to where I am now!

The only solution i am able to think right now until the patchfix is to open the save in a non EE game to pass the wheel part and afterwards return the save to the enchanced edition.Would this be possible?Or the classic game won't recognize the enhanced edition save?

I doesn't appear like a massive problem for the devs to fix though,so we should wait for a fix.

I believe he is referring to uninstalling and installing again.

Wouldn't that delete your saves?

You can just copy and backup your saves to another folder if you wish,it's uber easy.
