No u don't.R4REF0RM said:This is not the help I was expecting for this bug. I have already dumped 25 hours into the game to get to this point, and now I have to start all over because they can't rotate a wheel. CD Project, I am disappoint...
Will this rebuild work with the steam version? It wasn't clear in the devs post.Amtsea said:No u don't.
Just download the 2.0 Critical Rebuild: it will bypass any check or error and will downgrade your game version to the pre-EE one.
With that u can easly move that damned wheel.
I downloaded 2.0 Critical Rebuild but encountered an error. So I am stuck AGAIN.Vinthir said:For the boxed version install the game and when it asks you whether to download the patches cancel. Go to our Support page and on the right you will see the patches. Download and apply 0->1.35 and potentially 1.35-> 2.0 if you prefer 2.0 rather than 1.35.
Alternatively, you can use the 2.0 Critical Rebuild on a fresh installation, or any other version actually - it's non-differential so it doesn't matter.
EDIT: Basically, there are 3 kinds of boxed The Witcher 2.
1) Patching 0->1.35 and 1.35->2.0 is for the 0.0 Master
2) If you have the Namco autumn release of the game based on 2.0 master then you don't have to patch it at all if you want to play the 2.0 version.
3) And if you have new EE discs based on EE master and you want to use old saves you had from some other version of the game then you would have to apply 2.0 Critical Rebuild which I mentioned above.
Good point dude! I wanted to give you "+1" and clicked "vote this post up". Your post got -1 instead. lolRazamith said:I have to agree with others that your "solution" raises eyebrows at best. Its one thing to say you cant use a savegame in the middle of a changed area/different content, but it appears to be an unchanged click item in a random [required] quest. Even if i'm wrong seems like the kind of thing spending the hours to research and fix would go a long way with your customers. I'm a programmer and if i told my client they had to rebuild their database cause i didn't feel like figuring out how to convert a decimal to integer in one field that's causing them to crash and not able to work, dissapointment would be an understatement. At minimum I concede that at least there IS a workaround just with a lot of effort and crappy solution, but events like this will weigh in my future decisions.
PS: Dont get me wrong still a great game and getting an enhanced addition addon provided free is appreciated, but something free that destroys the original is not.
I had that problem, for some reason cloud saving wouldn't turn off even tho I had no saves with it. I fixed it by going into Documents/The Witcher 2/Config/User.ini and changing CloudStorage=true to CloudStorage=false.Battlemaster1001 said:Well Im pretty screwed, the game is no longer recognising any saved games I have in the saves folder :/ I think it is trying to use the ones on the steam cloud where there are actually no saved games. So I cant use other peoples saves past the glitch as TW2 wont recognise them and I cant use saves from earlier in the game either![]()
