This problem still happens to me, I played a fresh game(I bought retail 2.0, and upgraded to EE before starting the game), and I can't spin in

I have the same problem bought the enhanced edition on origin about 2 weeks ago so i would assume i got the latest patch when it downloaded.
i must say i am really pissed off. i never updated the game before i got there.
but after reading through the forum i installed the latest patch but that stupid wheel will not turn i cannot interact with it.
Please help or i would like a refund thanks.

That means you do NOT have the latest patch. Origin claims to be selling EE, which is game version 3.0, and I guess they're not providing patches. You can pick up 3.1 and 3.2 from the support link at the top of this page.
I'm not sure how to check the version for the Origin version. One obvious way would be to check to see if the 3.2 changes are present - does your inventory screen allow you to sort by date/weight/price? If so, 3.2 is installed. However, the fix for the Vergen bug was on 3.1, so if you updated via Origin rather than the standard method, I guess there's also a possibility that it skipped 3.1.
Incidentally, I'm also puzzled why you would have got the bug at all if you had started two weeks ago. This bug only affected people who started the game on 2.1 or earlier, and then updated to EE in mid-game. That doesn't seem to fit your circumstances.

I'm having a similar problem with a wheel. Towards the beginning of the game I have to turn a wheel to open a gate after going underground through a well. This wheel is impossible! It doesn't matter how fast I click. Maybe this is a lag issue, as the game lags a lot on my computer.
The problem with the Vergen wheel was specific to one version of the game, so this is a different issue and yes, it's to do with the lag you're experiencing. Can you give details of your system specs, and the settings, including screen resolution, that you're using for the game?IHateWheels said:
