I eagerly tried the TAA disabler - started Corpo Campagain and BOOMED right back to desktop nirvana.
It really seems to be pure luck to get past mirror scenes. As I mentioned using the "low" preset was still the best method for me but it is like drawing the lucky straw.

They have to patch this out asap because it is an insane bug. After this I cannot use the nVidia inspector anymore because of driver vaporization. They cannot be so cruel to lockout so many Win7 users :cry:

for me the only way to get past the mirror (or use scanner extensively) was to set the graphics exactly to default "medium" Yeah, as silly as it sounds, it's the only thing that worked on 1.04 (latest drivers, default user.json etc etc., all the possible tweaks ppl been mentioning last few days) - the game slows to a crawl but god damn it I can get past the f-n mirrors that way >.< especially at the nomad game start

I have the same problem. None of the solutions alone helped me (deleting/changing settings, disabling TAA...), BUT it worked after I switched to a larger monitor. My smaller monitor is 1280x1024 (lol. but FPS is good :D), and the bigger one is 2560x1440. It felt like there is some relation between game FPS and the imminence of the crash... because using Low settings on the smaller screen made me crash even faster than with High settings.

EDIT: This got me through 3 different mirror scenes consistently (all were crashing without it). So it's either an aspect ratio issue or somehow related to FPS (slower = less crash chance?)

Same issue, GeForce 1080 Ti. None of the solutions in this thread helped.

Same issues, same crashes, new fix!
🙃
Believe it or not, I just hammered on the C button to skip the dialogue and it blew right past the mirror and sent me on my way.

Ok, I feel like a complete idiot now, but pressing C actually worked. I spent entire Sunday sitting on my ass trying to figure this and all I needed to do was to jam C, wow I am stupid.

This is what I did for the first mirror scene, next cutscene with Johnny was a different kind of cookie though, had to use TAA disabler, can confirm that with a lot of luck you can 100% dialog skip through it!

Ran into this thread and tried many of the suggestions to no avail, however I was able to find a simple fix even on my meager rig.

i5-2500k 3.3ghz
8gb RAM
GTX970

I applied all of the previous suggestions, as well as limiting my FPS to 20. This fixed it first try, you can revert back to old settings afterward. This was very frustrating to me so I registered and made this post in the hopes it helps others. Cheers.

There's another unskippable dialogs next to the bunch of mirrors, quest is called "Never fade away". Spamming "C" is not working this time. Does anyone find resolve for that?

Unskippable Silverhand mirror cutscene was impossible to get through without a crash
Limiting frames to 10 fps worked for me first try with no other changes.
Reverted after and no more crashes till another mirror scene and same fix works every time so far.

Same problem here. Running a W7 with 1070.
So how do I limit the frames to 10fps?

You ABSOLUTE GENIUS, I laughed good at it actually working, but it did!!!!!!
Wonder if any other fps limitations work, because playing at 10fps was horrendous xD
So the issue might be the game trying to run at TOO MANY frames per second and the scene being refresh-rate locked to a certain fps, and thus crashing because of the PC trying to overrun it's limit

I'm crashing at the same exact spots as you all. Right after creating the char, where you see yourself in the mirror on the corpo prologue before getting a Jackie call. When you wash your face at Dex apartment, when you push away the guy who wont let you in (first moment with Johnny Silverhand), and when V and Johnny Silverhand meet in V's apartment, right when you approach to the window.

I tried many things, could manage to go past the first scene after creating the character by pure luck, then I managed to go past the other 2 by loading an earlier savegame, but I can't seem to go past this at all.

I was browsing forums and I've came across the solution might be updating from Windows 7 to Windows 10 because of DX12.
It's a shame, but if it will fix my game I'll do it on a partition and cross my fingers, and also, I could finally have a proper fullscreen since I can't select fullscreen but only borderless window with max res.

Specs:
i7 3770k
16gb ram
gtx670 4gb

Yeah my gpu is old and theoretically it shouldn't run the game, but I'll keep everything on low. I don't want to upgrade it right now because besides the fact I can't afford a new one at the moment since I have other expenses, it's mostly because I stopped playing games years ago and just came back to play this, but now as now I'm just frustrated and wish I minded my own businesses.)

Eventually, I'll keep you updated.

This is the magic bullet. I think you might be referring to the scene where you are Johnny and in the dressing room full of mirrors with Alt. Nothing elese worked but limiting the FPS DID work.
