xpadder dont allow to use so many advanced features that pinnacle game profiler can do, so dont even wish to have all of witcher buttons mapped to gamepad if you use xpadder.

Thank you for the profile good sir. Albeit clunky, it's as good as you can get when it comes to a controller in this game.

Hello!

I bought The Witcher Enhanced Edition for Windows. If you look on the bottom of the box, where the system requirements are, there is a symbol for a XBOX 360 controller. ''Supports XBOX 360 Controller for Windows''
But i found no option in the game for the controller. I dont know how to use my controller. Please help me.

Thanks in advance.

If I´m not totally mistaken the first Witcher EE doesn´t support Xbox 360 controller. If your box says this, then it´s a miss print. First Witcher has totally different combat system than Witcher 2 and it would be rather difficult to use controller on this combat way. If I´m mistaken, please fellow forum members correct me.

Thanks for the answer fist. :)

I have looked around in other forum's and some people like me, have a box witch sayes that too. My last resort woud be Xpadder. A programm witch lets you emulate the mouse and keyboard to use with a controller. But i would rather play with the real option, like my box says.

If I am right, the first The Witcher is close to impossible to play with a controller, and I can't even find that symbol (that might be because of regional differences). Either way, the The Witcher 1 is best with keyboard+mouse, or some people might be actually able to tell you if there is a way to make it work with controller, which I don't know, as I've never tried it (I don't even have a controller).

Then i have to use Xpadder...
I hate my LYING F****ING Box.
I live in Austria. I have the Germany Enhanced Edition. But that doesnt change a thing.
I hate those lazy guys, that are responsable for this missleading symbol.

Well thanks for your support, im gonna play with Xpadder.

No problem, even if it wasn't much support, as we can't really do anything about it, sorry. Only if that box artist might've known that the game doesn't support controllers...

Yep, Xpadder is one solution, but still.. Hard to imagine how to assign all the buttons and camera usage and fighting. Please inform if you have any luck and possible solution. Then I´m off to try that too. Mouse + keyboard is still best way to play that game, me thinks. Played around 30 hours and actually its pretty darn fun and this comes from 97% console player ;)

There's no reason to add a controller to Witcher 1 as you would use about 2 buttons for combat and then 7 or so to change styles and signs and it would be difficult as hell to get that onto a controller and still have it function well

I have mapped all keys to my XBOX360 Controller with Xpadder works superb. :)
Woud work even better if i had a Chatpad addon for my controller. For example using HOT KEYs for Potions and stuff.

Left Stick - WSAD
Klick Left Stick - Display Name Boxes
Right Stick - Mouse Movement
Klick Right Stick - Change OTS Side
D-Pad Left - Previous Weapon
D-Pad Right - Next Weapon
D-Pad Up - Next Sign
D-Pad Down - Previous Sign
A - Holster Weapon
X - Journal
B - Held
Y - Inventory
LB - Alchemie
RB - Change Combat Style*
LT - Signs/Right Click
RT - Attack/Left Click
Back - Map
Start - Game Menu

*(Xpadder my config. Click button, Advanced: c/STOP/v/STOP/B )

Works great. :)

This game looks so good on MAX Game and NVIDIA Settings on my 1080p beamer. :)

And thanks for your support guys. :)

This.. Is.. Good news. I shall give this a shot. My only problem with the game was that for some reason my machine coughed badly with the game. 30 hours I played AND enjoyed very much. I shall see once again if this time I could even play it through. Thank you very much for the tip!

Many of people here wanted to play witcher with gamepad in their hands, but due of lack of native support it was almost impossible.
Some people used mappers like Xpadder and Pinnacle Game Profiler and despite they worked, many people was not able to create their own profiles and existing few was awkward and did not included half of features, so part of game still required use of mouse and keyb and game was barely playable with such configs... until now.
Thx to new features of Pinnacle Game Profiler, i was able to map absolutely every feature of game into 12+ buttons of gamepad.
I spent few nights in research in testing to bring myself and everyone here maximum possible comfortable gamepad experience that feels like it native feature of game.

I hope you are all gonna like intuitive mapping and will be able to sit on sofa and relax with gamepad in arms in front of your 42" plasma TV ) Now you can forget about mouse and keyboard.

Most valuable features of this profile:

+All Signs and potions bound to 8 separate D-pad direction for quick access

+Since Dialogs have up to 8 answers and allow quick answers by pressing 1-8 buttons same d-pad buttons can be used in dialogs to quick reply without moving mouse cursor

+Witcher fight styles mapped to 3 separate buttons to quickly change the style

+All 5 weapon slots bound to separate button, you can use Steel and Silver weapon button also to cycle Witcher fight styles or to cycle weapons

+Cycling of all 5 panels with 1 button with ability to exit any of these panels by holding same button

+Quick access to 4 panels with shift button

+Quick save while you keep moving

+CTRL shift to separate items in inventory

+Intuitive mapping of buttons, easy to guess and even more easy to remember

-------

So thats how it works:

Directional Pad
Left/Right = Previous/Next Sign (hold 0.5 sec)
Left = Aard
Up Left = Quen
Up = Yrden
Up Right = Igni
Right = Axii
Down Right = Quick Slot 1
Down = Quick Slot 2
Down Left = Quick Slot 3

Left Thumbstick
MAPPED TO W,A,S,D KEYS = Move

Right Thumbstick
MAPPED TO MOUSE = Look / Move cursor in menus/pause

Click Left Thumbstick
Flip OTS Camera (Tap)
Quick Save (Hold 2-3 sec)

Click Right Thumbstick
Switch Camera Mode (Tap)
Switch OTS Camera Side (Hold 1 sec)

A Button
Draw Extra Weapon 3 (Quick Tap)
Group Style (Tap)
Inventory (Hold BACK button 1st)
