did you continued a savegame from the demo? if so you need to start a new game
Game runes fine no graphical errors nothing. I've worked my way up to end of act 1 where you have to get the pass and talk to the guard. Miikal the guard, who stands outside the gated town when I talk to him with the pass it goes to the cut scean.. When he turns me in to the other guards I get a blackscreen music is still playing but no control. I have tried rebooting my machine, restarting steam, I have no idea how to fix this, I have tried replaying past saves and doing things differently, started new games, verified game cashe ect, through steam. This is VERY frustrating. any help would be great. Anyone know how to even skip to act 2, because this is bullcrap.
That's the end of the demo, I blieve. If you are trying to play with a save that you started from the demo, I'm fairly sure that is where it must end. Start over.
Everytime I talk to Mikul with my pass and try to enter the Vizima. The game crashes and goes to black when Geralt drops his sword to the ground, im running 1.4 Enhanced Edtion I havent cranked up the settings just left them as the gmae preset them and it was running perfect up until this point. Any help would be much apreciated to overcome this showstopper
I know this somewhat off topic but it relates to my issue. Does Mikul have a beard in the Enhanced Edition?

I have finish chapter 1 but when the cutscene with the sergent is over the screen goes black and stays that way. I can still heard all the game sounds but can't do anything else. I have read the thread about demo saves and I'm definately using a save file from the full version. The game is fully updated and my drivers are the latest versions. I'm using Vista 32 bit. Any help would be appreciated.

I am not attempting to use a save game from the demo. I started a fresh game when I installed the full version yet I still have the problem.
I encountered this and the problem is apparently loading the autosave for the transition to the new level. In fact, almost the problems that I have encountered with EE have been failures loading a save. You just exit, restart, and load the save in these cases.The autosave in the above case was created correctly so the solution was easy. I killed the hung process, restarted WitcherEE and loaded the autosave (the last save). same thing happens for me, i started a new game, re-installed, deleted all savegames and it still crashes, anyhelp?
