Game freezes PC after loading into main menu

My entire PC freezes and becomes unresponsive when I load into the main menu (by unresponsive I mean the entire Windows system is unresponsive and not just the game itself), this issue only persisted today and I have not faced this issue in my 2 months of playing the game.

Need help as I tried all basic troubleshooting (reinstalling graphic drivers, reinstalling game, verifying files, etc). So far this issue still persists and I am unable to play this game anymore.

My first guess would be that the gpu driver version is causing issues, so I would recommend rolling back to an older version.

Is it a modded game?

Also, keep in mind the game hasn't changed in the past few months, so it has got to be something else. Did something else change on your computer?

If rolling back gpu drivers doesn't help, you could also monitor your temperatures for example...

I don't want to give you bad advice or mislead you, but if you're still experiencing this issue, it's possible that you're running into the same bug I had before. (In my case, I was using an AMD 6800 XT, so I'm not sure whether this also affects other AMD cards or NVIDIA GPUs.)

Anyway, when I started tweaking the settings, I ended up with exactly the same problem as you. After going through all the changes I had made, I discovered that the game issue was caused by Fluid Motion Frames (the feature that generates "extra frames per second").

In my case, I couldn't even get into the settings menu to disable it, so I had to turn it off through the game's configuration files instead.

If you've enabled this setting, there's a chance you're dealing with the same problem I had.
