Game Installation Problem

I have a major problem with installation of The Witcher 2. The "game installer" does not complete the installation. I get an error pop-up that says, "Cannot Read From The Source File or Disk: (Data 2, Type: Cabinet File, Size: 7.80GB, Date Modified: 4/23/2011 9:42 PM). Try Again or Cancel Installation." I did try to copy the file from Disk !, directly to my hard drive with no success. Same error message. Yes, all of my drivers are up to date, so that isn't the problem. I have already attempted to return the game for a replacement, but it was a gift and I don't have a reciept. So, no-go there. Is there anywhere I can download just the file mentioned above? Can anyone help? Please......

I have had this game for well over a month. Believe me when I say I have tried all of the suggestions on the FAQ page. Still cannot install the game. Can I get just that file anywhere, or am I out of luck? Thanks.....

You can turn to help2start@thewitcher.com or tw2support@cdprojektred.com and see what they suggest. I don't think you'll legally find parts of the installation files for download.

That sounds a lot like a faulty disk or drive.
The latter you can test by trying to copy a different disc to harddisc. If that works, I strongly suspect it's the disc.
It's good advice to write the support, they will surely try and replace it, if that is indeed the problem. I will not swear an oath on it, though.

Do you have WinRAR installed ? You may need to uncheck associated files usually found in options tab .
