@veleda, I disagree, given that one direction or more, politicization leads to agendas and propaganda shoved in from multiple sides, and that is not at all a good thing in entertainment, unless the only thing someone is concerned about is that they only see bullshit coming in from opposing political positions they don't agree with.
There's always been polarization among gamers for years now, especially as it became more mainstream and accepted and people joined in that called themselves gamers but had not endured anything those of, the old guard, had.

However now we see social and political agendas enter the discussion, have seen them for the last three years with some attempts even before that ( Jack Thompson ), and we see them not at their best, because yes politics can be good, but at the very worst at the lowest possible level.
Gaming Journalists vs Gamers is a war that makes Fox News vs CNN seem like two people slapping each other and mark my words this is a war.
A very nasty, brutal war and like every conflict the moderates are silenced first, leaving only the radicals to wage it.

Aw I missed it. I don't see what's the big deal really. They were conspiring to get rid of feminists. That's not new, they were open about that. People even took screencaps of the comments and posted them on tumblr from 4chan. But people take that as code for getting rid of women, I guess. Which is, excuse my brief mention of the political, a staple of liberal politics. That is, claiming ownership to anyone not a white male.
Notyourshield was formed as a response to accusations gamergate was sexist and racist. It's there for people to show just who exactly these "journalists" are fighting. The racial and gender diversity of gamergate.
It's supposed to be a hashtag for people saying they don't buy into the sjw idea, while also saying they weren't racist or misogynist, but it was apparently started by the 4chan guys who conspired to attack feminism in gaming. Supposedly, the original intent was to hide the fact that they were misogynist.
Yea, one of those screencaped comments said "if I show up in blackface, can I help #notyourshield ?"
edit: I might have missed some screencaps, but I think that was the only thing I'd call offensive in the entire conversation posted. All I saw was mentions of hacking, manipulating, deception, etc against feminism. Working against feminism isn't misogynist to anyone but feminists. Though if they were, I wouldn't be surprised either. It's 4chan.

I'd go as far to say if it turns out to be legit, CDPR should be the first dev studio she contacts. Interviews with the people behind TW3 is bound to get attention. As for Zoe, she's clearly trying to obfuscate. If you google gamergate, it's an evil group of misogynistic neck beards according to most of the general coverage. But the longer this goes on, the more light gets shed on the facts, and I'm not sure her and Anita would like that.
