It's about this:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gAyncf3DBUQ
I don't even care to make [video] of it.... any moderator can change it if he/she want...I don't.
Although I cringed and laughed my way throughout the video, the dislike bar+glorious comment section (at least before ABC turn comments off) is giving me hope in humanity in general.
Allow me to rant a bit (I still haven't watched the MundaneMatt's reply video so I maybe making a mistake with doing this rant):
There are so many things wrong with this video, I don't even know where to begin.
...
First four seconds of the video, the newsanchor says that there are violent depictions of women being beaten, raped, and run over by cars. I do not know of a game where you can "beat" women (as in domestic violence), rape (that's a total taboo), and running them over with a car is just an option you have to do with random pedestrians, not just women. GTA and Saint's Row are open world games where you can murder anyone on the street. You don't have to do it, but you have the option to do it. If someone tells me this is anything more than mindless fun, then they don't know what they're talking about. Plus, in SR you can create a female character and be the boss of the gang, and you can also only target male individuals on the street, beating them up, killing them, running them over, etc. I never heard anyone complain about that. But if it's the other way around, "Oh, harassment! Misogyny!"
The death and rape threats are bullshit, though. These are gamers, not mafiozzi who would threaten to kill and then really publicly execute someone. However, I disagree with this practice. It's a few stupid idiots doing it, thus "proving their point"; and when the whole thing inevitably gets blown out of proportion, they get to claim that all gamers are violent criminals, which is obviously not the case.
Hm... interesting that a "strong, independent" woman needs male escort. Why not ask for a few females to guard her. You know, maybe some women who are 160 and weigh 50 kilos. I mean, obviously they are as strong as men are... And obviously the only differences are introduced by society. She doesn't seem to have a huge problem with playing the "damsel in distress" being "rescued" by the men. She's not a hypocrite, at all...
Oh, and she doesn't dissect games... She lies through her teeth and takes things out of context, like the thing with Hitman where she basically said you had to kill the strippers in the Vixen Club... Even though the game actually penalizes you for doing it. So, yeah, that's bullshit.
"Especially the bodies of female prostitutes..." How many games have female prostitutes in order for that to be a thing? And are we "slut shaming" them in the process of running over them? Are they endangered species or something?
Oh, the Watch_Dogs thing is just bullcrap. First of all, you don't have to wait for her to be murdered. You can save her before that. Second, you also save plenty of men. So that's bullshit and again taken out of context to support her conclusion. Hey, Anita, the conclusion comes last, not first. Try that next time.
"This is fantasy; lighten up." "That's a fun argument." Well, exactly the same argument as you're making, only backwards. You're saying there is a serious issue, and we say there isn't. The only difference is that we can support our claims with actual data, which makes this "fun argument" way heavier than your bullshit.
Ultimately, it's about having fun. You sit down for an hour or two and play (and should be able to play) whatever you want, even if that thing is sick, preverted or whatever. As long as you're not hurting anyone IRL, it's all cool.
Telling developers what to do is like telling writers what to write. "I don't like how sorceresses are represented in TW universe. They need to change." Fuck off... If you don't like it, don't read it. Seriously, it's that easy. Don't like it? Don't get involved with it.
You can't go ahead and tell people what to think and what to create.
Australia bans Hotline Miami 2, because 16 bit blood will cause people to kill.

And here I thought democratic values had reached most continents.
And the glorious dev's response to that:
