I'm not sure why I keep entering this thread. It feels like masochism to me at this point. I only leave it way more frustrated than how I came in.
For me the thing is that it's a direct attack on our hobby, if we don't do something now, however small, one day we're going to wake up and idiots like McIntosh and Saarkeesian will have got their hands on it. Developers will be straitjacketed, forced to adhere to a politically correct checklist when they create, characters will be squeeing idiots like in Bioware games, no game with an anywhere near realistic setting will be allowed, visual novels preaching at the player about diversity (made by middle class white men) will be the favourite kind of game, any interactivity won't be allowed as it allows harassment, and any kind of challenging moral crisis will go the way of the Dodo, because nothing oppressive can be featured.
Most of all though I think it's important that we finally stand up and be counted as consumers. We happen to choose to spend our spare time playing games, some do tv and others read, nobody should be fucking judged for that. Especially not by corrupt, squealing, little hipster man children who have neither the mental capacity nor the moral superiority to judge anbybody. Yeah it seems frustrating when even mainstream media aligns against us, spreading lies and disinformation about millions from all races and genders, but fuck 'em, they've always targeted us, and they're becoming more and more irrelevant.
The fight might seem hopeless, the odds against us, and truth, free speech and the fight against censorship at its lowest ebb, but I say that's all the more reason to fight harder.
Edit: Besides we've got nothing better to do, as the living dead.
