Game Just Doesn't Work Anymore

So I played the game for about 2 and a half hours last night everything was silky smooth. Today I hoped on I ran about 20 feet the game froze. I closed the game reopened it and now the game just stays at a black screen without anything. No sound/visuals nothing. I didn't do anything so not sure what the problem was.

try to remove user.settings file in my documents/the witcher

back it up first, i think it will reset your settings
