[Game Mechanics Question] Chort Decoction: What exactly counts for "stagger" and "knockdown"?
I recently got this decoction and I cannot work out what it is supposed to do.
It states that it gives Geralt complete resistance to the "stagger effect" and turns knockdown into stagger.
When I use this decoction Geralt still gets hitstunned and interrupted by normal attacks and Cyclops aoes are still knocking him back and leaving him stunned for a long time. It doesn't give him resistance to his attacks being interrupted.
I don't know if it is bugged or I just don't understand what the "stagger effect" and "knockdown" are supposed to be?
I've tested chort decoction on as many different types of attacks and monsters as I can think of, flying, basilisks, wyverns, cyclops, drowners, human bandits, foglets, it doesn't seem to trigger for anything. Been letting Geralt get smacked around for hours with Chort decoction up, down and with Noonwraith minus chort, just to see if I can figure out what these mechanics actually are, but I have no clue. As far as I can tell it has no effect on any attack.
In contrast the Noonwraith decoction, which reduces the length of knockdown, seems to work correctly versus a cyclops knockback attack. You can move as soon as geralt touches the ground, without the long stun period.
Anyone know what is going on? Anyone know when you are supposed to use Chort Decoction? Or what these mechanics are supposed to be, what they look like in game, and which monsters and attacks trigger them? So I can go find them and test?
