Not so Dumb your not the only one who has ask that ;)It should be in the back of your manual if not and you live in Canada look at a few latter post for a link to email to for the reg key.

I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this. If not, please move it. I'm having trouble registering my Witcher CD-Key. I have an activated forum account, obviously, because I'm posting with it. When I use the registration option in the game launcher, I successfully log in, then on step 3 I enter my CD Key and every time I hit send, a window pops up that says: "You have to be logged in to use this feature. Please enable cookies in Internet Explorer." The thing is, I do have cookies enabled in Internet Explorer. Initially, I had privacy set to medium. Then I tried setting it to "accept all cookies," then I tried "override automatic cookie handling" accepting all cookies and always allowing session cookies. I still got the same message. Then I tried restarting IE and the Witcher Launcher between attempts and I still got the same message. I tried it while logged into the forums and I also tried it logged out. I still get the same message. I am using IE 6.0.2900 under Windows XP SP2. Please help. Thank you. I also tried submitting a registration support request here: http://www.thewitcher.com/registration/en/www/contact.html. But that's broken as well! It tells me to "enter correct e-mail address" when I did enter my correct e-mail address. It probably doesn't recognize an e-mail address with two periods as a valid address (domain @nyc.rr.com)I did upgrade to 1.2a before I tried registering, maybe that's the problem? Also, maybe IE 6.0 is too old (even though it says it requires IE 6.0) and it really requires IE 7.0? I really don't like IE 7.0 so, I don't want to switch unless I have no choice. I even tried the launcher registration patch located here: ftp://ftp.thewitcher.com/eng/thewitcher/patch/TheWitcherLauncherPatch.exeIt still didn't work after I did that. I get the same cookie error message. I guess next I could try reinstalling and registering before I patch, but I really don't want to do that unless I'm sure it'll work.

Just tried again today with absolutely nothing different than my many attempts last week, and it worked. My take on it is that sometimes the registration server is broken and sometimes it isn't, and when it is broken, it gives you the cookies error even if it's not a cookies error.

Registration server is down very rarely. Mainly due to maintenance. With all registration problems please contact us via:http://www.thewitcher.com/registration/en/www/contact.html

@ arcallon the reason you post was locked was for the there was no need to make a new thread on the same matter a lot of player are having trying to register there game I understand everyones frustrationI also long before I became a mod here I also has the same trouble and it took some time to fix it for me that why I do my best in helping ppl here. And as for the CPU code the reason I took that out was it can be use as a proof of purchase in some cases I'm not saying it mite have been needed in this case but it always good to be safe then sorry. The best thing if everything was tried is to contact http://www.thewitcher.com/registration/en/www/contact.html

I sent an email and used that web-based help link. The response was:[glow=red,2,300]We are working on a testing application, which should verify this issue. Wewill contact you as soon, as it is ready. If this application won't make any difference, you could then send us aphoto with your registration code shown, we will register it manually.[/glow]Guess I'll wait a bit for the new registration application, but judging from how old this problem is, I should start looking for a camera.

Okay, here's my troubles.I recently got a new graphics card (MSI Nvidia 8600GT) and it came bundled with this awesome game called 'The Witcher'. I installed the GPU and the game and have been in monster murdering heaven ever since! But nothing is free right... I am trying to register the game now so i am prepared for the new Enhanced Edition update coming soon and guess what there IS NO registration key on or around the discs packaging or the disc itself. The game disc came INSIDE the MSI box and was in a paper windowed disc sleeve with nothing on it, the paper sleeve WAS sealed and I WAS the person to open it also the MSI box was Vac. Packed and all. So I don't believe there is an issue or chance of anyone taking the key. my main question here is is there a way to find the CD Key in the games files or maybe a utility or tool that can find it for me so I can register the game. THIS IS NOT A BOOTLEG OF THE GAME it is the real disc, it's the so called OEM (thats what MSI labeled it as) if it has no CD Key thats BS and I'm gonna be pissed because I DO NOT want to go buy another copy just for a CD Key. any help is greatley appreciated. until i get a reply or aid i will be here... Slaying Striga's of course! Cheers!

You will have to contact the retailer or the company that you got the graphics card frombeing that the card came with the game that would be the first step. If they cant help you then I would try Atari Support in your Region for help. you can look at the Sticky inGeneral called Game Registering for a bit more help there are a few that have run into this before

I'm really starting to hate IE :wall:One trick you can do is try making Foxfire your default Browser Log into forum using Foxfire.then run the game and try to Reg that way hope that helps

I'm not sure that Firefox helps. :pIn my case it doesn't make a difference between Firefox or IE. It doesn't work either way(and it wouldnt what browser you used unless you were using something like ACTIVE X to REGISTER the game). I thought that perhaps it was because I was behind a nat router and I investigated and that wasn't it either. I emailed the links that you gave and no response. I'm going to disassemble/debug register.exe and figure out what it is trying to do and hopefully I can create a patch for it. I

Let's be clear for others reading:1. Registering on the Forum and Registering the Game are TWO DIFFERENT THINGS. However its easy to get confused because you have to create a forum account to Register the game. 2. State if you are having the cookie IE problem or a bad key problemA lot of you guys may be able to fix it by changing the default settings of Internet Explorer/XP SP2. you could START | SETTINGS | CONTROL PANEL | INTERNET OPTIONS(from the classic view) It doesn't appear to be a NAT issue but I have noticed that it wisely uses the SSL port 43. That may cause some firewall issues with really strict bloatware firewall software like McAfee(McCrappy) and Norton etc. After saying all I'm in the same boat. I love the game but I'd really like to register it. I'll just email them again.Jeff

OK so I just tried today to register and just like that I'm registered. I guess to those having trouble just give up for a couple weeks, let the cookies bake a little, and try again.

Just thought I would drop a note to any folks who have the OEM version of The Witcher with a purchase from newegg.com, etc and are having trouble registering...contact Atari at this address: http://www.atari.com/us/support/supportemail/supportemail_form.php?productName=The+Witcher&osType=WINXPIf you're in Canada, US or Mexico, they will hook you up. Good luck! :)
