Game shutdown

Hello everyone!I just got "The Witcher" (enhanced version) .. the patch included is 1.4.3.21 ---> is that the newest one?! I do not hope so because otherwise that means that I got issues -.- BECAUSE my game keeps shutting down every two hours for no reason... I NEED ADVISE (please)ty Dave

yea mine too. about once a hour. crash too desktop.this has cost me some time. now i save every 10 min or so.last night i was trying to kill the boss wavvern. i had too kill a drowner to get there. everytime i clicked on the drowner my game would crash.i had too just let the thing chase me.this is the buggest game i had ever played. this POS makes Stalker look like a gembut i love the game

Hi guys, sorry to hear you're having problems. We're going to need some more detail in order to best help you out.Firstly, MageDave - when you say the game shuts down, I'm guessing you mean it crashes to the desktop? MageDave and alanhilton - are you receiving any error messages when the game crashes, or does it just spit you out at the desktop? If you are getting error messages, please indicate what they are.If you're not receiving error messages, try Event Viewer and see what it says. I apologise in advance if these instructions are too basic, but I'm not sure how familiar you might be with the admin tools of Windows. After the game has crashed, go in through Event Viewer (Start > Settings > Control Panel > Administrative Tools > Event Viewer > Application) and see if there's an error entry that matches the date/time of the last crash and post the contents of the entry here. We might be able to come up with a clue from that And lastly (but probably most importantly ) please read this guide to getting tech help on the forum and follow the instructions there.

hey... Im glad we still get answers in time here Im sorry if that seems "noobish" to you but I do not actually know what you mean by referring to: the witcher/sytem . I opened that file but there was no errorlog...Maybe you can explain that to me a little different.. thankssystem specs: -system: Windows XP Pro. Service Pack 3 -Computer: AMD Athlon(tm) 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+ 3,02 GHz 2,00 GB RAM -graphics: NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS (version: 6.14.11.6218)by the way I played yesterday for 5 hours without having the game crash to the desktop after that it crahed 4 times in a row within half an hour and this morning it crashed once more after 25 minutes even though the game saves automatically once in a while it gets annoying .. so plz help me =) (I can play the game on 1280x1024 and everything on high with 2xAA... it works perfectly fine (fluent) ... it rox)thanks for support

that is the FOLDER where the GAME is installedsomething like C:\Program Files\The Witcher\System or somethingwhen the game crashes a file named ERRLOG.TXT is created there

OK Mine shuts down as well. Witcher version 1.4.5.1282 (08/09/08 05:37:08)Windows Vista SP1 with all updates.Nvidia drivers latest : 7.15.11.7813Crashes every 20-30 min. Will slow down first and then crash. Seems like I am not the only one having this issue.I have everything turned up (9800GTX+x2 in SLI). HI there. Just bought this game for two days. and It has shut down at least 6 time for a day. all happend by change scens. I haven't found any logfile but a crash.dump file . Q: The game was install from the Enhanced Edition DVD but the launcher informs me that a new update is availableA: The latest patch at this moment is 1.4 ( version 1.4.5.1282 actually ), the pressed DVDs in the boxed Enhanced Edition game has version 1.4 too, but the exact version number differs a bit, 1.4.5.1280, the contents are the same, but this small version difference makes the launcher believe a newer version is available.
