Gameplay Thread - NO FPP/TPP talk for a change.

Probably not, but maybe. A crossbow may make more sense. I'm also a big bow fan, but I don't know how practical it would be in this environment.

If there is a consequence to our decisions, then there must be some consequence of running over innocent people. Right. This game is not another GTA. There must be some reactions and consequences. I would not allow for running over pedestrians, though, if they do not want to bring up stupid GTA V police chasing or similar system. Running over pedestrians without any consequence breaks immersion to my mind. So let's not allow for it unless they have better solutions to it.

Actualy in core rules there were bows and crossbows. In rules from Solo of Fortune 2 there were like 4-5 types of each, with upgrades like laser sights, gyro stabiliziers, autoloaders (for crossbows of course), different types of arrows and so on.
In fact bows/x-bows were extremely overpowered.

I loved them.

In PnP version it was pretty simple.

City center, and areas owned by corporations - behave. They will simply put you down if they think you don't belong there. Cops don't mess around in CP. Most of them are heavy armored, assault rifle wielding, trigger happy Dirty Harry's of XXI century.
And there's Psycho Squad with assault AV's, 37 mm LATG guns with DPU ammunition, miniguns, EMP grenades and more hardcore stuff.

Other "civilised" areas? Don't get cought. If you won't, you can get away pretty much with anything because cops are busy anyway and corporations don't care about anything that isn't happening on their property.

There's also Combat Zone.
Combat Zone was Battle Royale before Battle Royale was cool. No rules, no law. Just pure anarchy, gangs, rapes, murders and never ending violence.

I found it strange that we didn't see any policemen in the trailer.
We only saw the building of a NCPD station.

In the old trailer all you could see was police...

They would be nice, exotic flavor as they are just that. Nice, exotic flavor. Bows, compared to guns, are extremely ineffective. Hard to learn, next to impossible to master, cumbersome, low ammo capacity with slow rate of fire, limited accuracy (yes, there are people who hits a coin from 100 yards on a horseback, but they do it after some tens thousands failures), limited range, depandant on user phisique, extremaly sensitive to weather conditions. And so on and so forth.
Still. THEY ARE FREAKING AWESOME AND I WANT ONE FOR MY CHARACTER! :)

Still I think they can make them more like silenced sniper rifles for short distance - high damage but low DPS and completly soundless (and yes I know it's unrealistic but it's damn future).

Yes, an intelligent police force system would be preferable.
Wouldn't it just.

It would be difficult for CDPR to create an effective policing system from scratch that would do more than the bare minimum of work...
You can't expect any police force to respond effectively to every incident...
Expecting the police to give any more than canned responses to most situations is...

Well that was just awkward. ;)

Sod the police. It's omnis homo sibi in Night City.

Bows is such a weird idea to me, we're in a futuristic setting using medieval weapons? Eh??

I'm not gonna QQ over it but it seems a bit unlikely that V is going to know how to use a bow. Crossbows are easier to use so I guess that's more plausible.

Actually all things considered a bow would help me make Cyberpunk Iorveth so sure. Lets have bows.

I know is really low-tech but look at the way Far Cry series handles it

Yeah, it was fun. I like how they describe it.

Bows are of course possible, but they may be limited to crossbows simply because they can use many of the same animations as rifles/shotguns.

At this point and after watching the E3 videos, i only want ONE thing.

TO SEE THE GAMEPLAY, anybody else with me? hehehehehhe
I am really eager to get a climpse of what those guys were talking
about. Or even better to see those 50 mins too in full lenght.
