After reading kotaku’s interview with Patrick Mills, I’m a little bit concerned about the character progression system
No. You fluidly move between them. In the original [pen-and-paper game] you’d pick a class, and you could pick skills from other classes, but you were that class and you had special abilities unique to that class. We don’t want to do that. We want you to be able to move freely between those.
What the heck does this mean? Do we pick and choose different skills for different occasions (kinda like TW3)? I thought we’ll have several skills we can upgrade and we can just do it without being limited to class but turns out... no?

That says what it seems to? when you have the opportunity you can pick skills from any of the three trees?

no idea how this would play out of course, but that is my read on it.

Yeah at first I thought it works exactly like PnP but without the exclusive special abilities but apparently it’s a different weird ‘fluid’ beast
EDIT. Watched the gamespot interview with Kyle Rowley again he said that you “define the class based on attributes, skills, perks and cyber ware you pick throughout the game”. Seems like by ‘fluid’ they mean not limited by class which is fair enough.

I hope so anyway...

A gameplay thread without gameplay footage is rather depressing.

That said, I'm with the OP on this. I want a Corporate path in the game - it'd open up some parts of the game, close others. As part of some megacorp, you get all the fancy toys and gear and the apartment with the great view, but good luck trying to find out anything in person on the street since you won't have any cred and most will disdain your very presence, unless you throw some serious money or muscle at them. Naturally, this would have to happen later on in the game, too soon and we'd just breeze through everything, but too late and it'd be highly unsatisfying because we finally made it to the high life and there's nothing left to do.
