Never mind, at least, 3 from those 18 months have already passed... (I guess)Alextyc1 said:You are trying to kill me with those 18 months?/>/>
Edith never mind ,(waiting for release date
Well the truth is that at this stage considering the leak is out and people are getting the first glimpse of the game through shaky cam footage.gregski said:I hope it won't have a negative effect on the amount & schedule of game related materials CDPR shares with the world.
I think CDPR just wanted to do some journalists a favor.vivaxardas said:Exactly. That's why I was wondering why to have a new behind-closed-doors presentation of the same stuff at all. The first time people were unaware of TW3, and it made a huge effect. People didn't leak it because they did not know what it was. But for the second presentation it should have been expected that somebody would decide to record and leak it.
Well apparentely there is some people (those who shared leaked videos) that don't give a damn to it :-Dgregski said:I hope it won't have a negative effect on the amount & schedule of game related materials CDPR shares with the world.
I'm not sure about the damage though.CostinMoroianu said:Well the truth is that at this stage considering the leak is out and people are getting the first glimpse of the game through shaky cam footage.
If CDPR is worried about potential bad image of their game because of this what might be a good idea is go to a site like IGN, Gamespot or Gametrailers and do a half an hour recording with one their guys showing off the game in full 1080p ( and for the love of God use a keyboard and mouse please if you're running it on a PC ).
You mean like gaming industrial espionage? Yeah, with DAI stealing everything from everybody, it might be a concern. Fortunately, Bioware also need a brain to use these stolen features properly, and I wouldn't bet on them having one.secondchildren said:There is also a problem of protecting confidential material. There are other games in work in progress and the risk to be beat on the time is high.
I'd wait for the official release.
Yes. And not only that.vivaxardas said:Exactly. That's why I was wondering why to have a new behind-closed-doors presentation of the same stuff at all. Well you can catch a lot of them it seems: Jumping animation, eye animation, facial animation, fur and hair, NPCs without sword sheaths. The recording quality is supposed to be rather bad and I don't think you can catch too many glitches from it apart from the obvious ones. So they might be like "Meh, whatever, they don't have anything, no worries" while an HD recording would obviously let bugs & glitches stand out more.
It that's the case, they shouldn't release the HD version IMO.CostinMoroianu said:Well you can catch a lot of them it seems: Jumping animation, eye animation, facial animation, fur and hair, NPCs without sword sheaths.
Bioware are shameless thieves when it comes to this.vivaxardas said:You mean like gaming industrial espionage? Yeah, with DAI stealing everything from everybody, it might be a concern. Am I the only one imagining Vernon Roche interrogating someone ?CostinMoroianu said:Maybe. We'll see what they decided to do. I imagine there was a high level meeting in CDPR to discuss this leak and how to react to it.
Nuking anything that made its way into the Web is pointless. Whatever is there stays forever. So for CDPR it is probably better not to waste time with this, and decide how to turn this situation to their benefit. Releasing a short HD portion of this demo would be good. The leaked video is on the web to stay, but at least they can supersede it with their own version where they will control quality and content.CostinMoroianu said:CDPR decided to try and nuke the leak, but it was too late by that point since many people had made their own recordings of the video.
I sort of agree.CostinMoroianu said:Well the truth is that at this stage considering the leak is out and people are getting the first glimpse of the game through shaky cam footage.

It was never answered whether the engine was 64 bit. The referenced 64 bit actually referred to HDR quality, which is completely different from having a 64 bit client.CostinMoroianu said:The engine is 64 bit and DirectX 11 only, they already answered that. PhysX will include Cloth, Hair and Fur, dunno anything about particles. They will also have TXAA.
