I think it does make a bit of difference. If they send out requests to the main videogame websites not to post the leaked footage, most of them would probably comply because they don't want to risk missing out on exclusives later on.vivaxardas said:Nuking anything that made its way into the Web is pointless. Whatever is there stays forever. So for CDPR it is probably better not to waste time with this, and decide how to turn this situation to their benefit. Releasing a short HD portion of this demo would be good. The leaked video is on the web to stay, but at least they can supersede it with their own version where they will control quality and content.
That would keep people from casually stumbling across the leaked footage if they were just skimming news headlines, so it would minimize the potentially bad influence of the footage on people who might possibly buy the game when it comes out but don't currently care enough to go searching for the footage. That's the group of people who might be swayed to buy the game later if they see something really awesome about it, so it's best not to give them a bad first impression with crappy-quality footage.
Of course people can still find the footage by searching for it, but chances are the people who care that much are already planning to buy the game anyway so it doesn't make much difference whether they see it or not
