Well, I don't really care if people who expect the next Skyrim, and who wouldn't have liked TW2 are disappointed with TW3. Right now, when we are in 2014 already, and a release date (whatever it is) is approaching, I am more concerned with us, hard-core TW fans, and our expectations being met. As I see it, as long as TW3 reaches TW2 quality in terms of characters and story, people who bought TW2 and liked it, will do the same. If TW3 offers even more (it is a more ambitious game, and an open-world one after all), it will appeal to other gamers as well. I wouldn't expect sales even close to Skyrim's though.

Exactly. CP2077 is the game that might make a huge profit for them, provided that TW3 doesn't flop. And even that won't be able to top Skyrim's sales.

People that think TW3 will be another Skyrim will just give CDP their money (wich is awesome) and stay away from the franchise later, like Agent Blue said, in fact i pretty much agree with all the points he made.

However, i think its almost impossible that this will backfire in a big way like with other games, because TW3 will probably have something else: pure undisputable quality in aspects that are pretty objective (as much as anything can be anyway).

They will be able to say "ohh you cant create your own char, it sucks" or "ohhh i cant kill everyone in every town and dress like a pink bunny with mods, it sucks", but they will almost surely wont be able to say "the game has bad graphics", "the game is too small", "the game has bad music and/or voice acting", "there is nothing to do in it", etc.

There is a difference that in my opinion is perfectly clear for most people that read feedback, between criticism that is born out of just having a different taste, and criticism thats constructive and actually takes in account what the game was supposed to be.

Im confident CDPRED's image wont be hurt by people crying the game was not made for them.

It only becomes a problem when CDPR starts listening to them.
