well...lists are technically even more old school....Avydia1 said:Personally I prefer the Witcher 2 style inventory. Grid inventory feels too old school for me, I'm far from being a nostalgic, I like innovation and new solutions.

off topic I know but can you imagine an RTS made for a more precise Kinect sensor (like the Kinect 2.0) where you can use your hands as a cursor (or 2 cursors) and use voice commands to boot? I always thought that would be the best applicationMataresa said:Well then they can choose the list inventory as an option, since they said, there will be two totally separate UIs for Keayboard and Mouse and for Controller. Although I must admit, that I never understood why I would want to play with controller. At least for all the genres that I play it would be the inferiour experience. Mouse just moves that much faster and is more precise and on keyboard I have way more Hotkeys. But of course I know there are genres, where you don't need that.
Well what is the APM on pro players? Something in the 130APM? I want to see you waving your arms around like that and rapping commands. XD For casuals maybe, if well implemented, but for pros certainly not with current game concepts. ^^HicSuntDracones said:off topic I know but can you imagine an RTS made for a more precise Kinect sensor (like the Kinect 2.0) where you can use your hands as a cursor (or 2 cursors) and use voice commands to boot? actually, the new Kinect is much more precise and has a DoS perception capability so you would not really be flailing, as for commands, well, talking about RTS you would juat have to "tap" a building for instance and say "upgrade" for the upgrade menu to come up and the. Choose an upgrade...or say "select all ground troops" or "select all airborne"Mataresa said:Well what is the APM on pro players? Something in the 130APM? But isn't there this bridge simulator for a space ship, where each of your friends man different stations like captian, weapons, drive, energy, engineer and stuff like that. Maybe you would be interested in that. It is not exactly what you meant though./>
EDIT: thanks for making me laugh this late at night at the thought of you flipping out in front of the monitor like a mad man. XDDDD
LOL.Just saying it would probably be just as effective as M&K
Speak for yourself. List inventories suck ass. They are time consuming and inefficient. If they want to put a cumbersome list menu for the console, fine. But for PC, grid is best.sidspyker said:Why the bloody hell do we need to go back to the damn grid inventory?
I like the current one, it's all sorted and works very well with a mouse. All categorically arranged.
operative word is "right now"...also we have no idea how well the next kinect will work.CostinMoroianu said:LOL.
Tell that to these guys:

The point is "select all units" is not the only thing that matters. Being able to select individual units on the fly, very easily and doing it THAT fast is something a motion sensor can't do.
At least not right now, and for fucking certain not a fucking Kinect.
I thought they said the UI is different for each platform, so I think the PC version will still have a grid inventory regardless of controller use.Mataresa said:Well then they can choose the list inventory as an option, since they said, there will be two totally separate UIs for Keayboard and Mouse and for Controller.
Based CDPR! I hope they learned this lesson for good and do the same for Cyberpunk 2077.Daywalker30 said:This time we decided to build a prototype very early and have a unique one for each platform
But you don't need to point mouse and read what everything is. You just see what's in your inventory by just looking at it. In list inventory you need to search for stuff and read every label.Umair2012 said:I never understood reasons behind list inventory's hate . All they needed to do is to make it more responsive and not effected by the background frame rates but on other hand first game also had REAL PC User Interface . Hybrid of both will make things good . I don't want to move my pointer on each and everything to see what it's name is , that was my only problem with The Witcher 1's UI .
Because it's the best inventory for mouse and keyboard. No one ever invented a better solution for these controlers. Gamepad can have a scrolling lists, I don't have any problem with that. I prefer KB&M.sidspyker said:Why the bloody hell do we need to go back to the damn grid inventory?
It's slow and ineffective. Also you can have categories (filters) in grid inventory.sidspyker said:it's all sorted and works very well with a mouse. All categorically arranged.
Well I'm just assuming they mean like W1, it had no categories, just everything thrown together.Vojtas said:Because it's the best inventory for mouse and keyboard.
