The developers may as well of went for "colored" endings like Bioware did for all the satisfaction i got out of the ones i've experienced (the ones i've not played but researched sound just as depressing as the ones i have). The endings make it completely pointless to play on after finishing the main story since V's going to die anyhow, thanks "writers".

It's better than any of the others, but V still dies, playing after the main story is over is completely pointless.

While I didn't really like the "reload a save to continue playing" choice by the creator, I'm ok with the endings and I actually really liked the Nomad one.
And I think that the whole "6 months" thing is just a way for CDPR to leave the story on a cliffhanger...except for the "suicide" one, no other ending is definitive

Perhaps there were other endings but they did not include them since they followed a linear path with no choices in the final cut, there are no lifepaths or several paths

its left kinda open like he could have found a cure (doubt it ) but i think they chose death as an ending because thats usually how the table top turns out but i didnt mind it i would have liked a happy sunshine option but i get it v (possibly) did some effed up stuff

I think they deliberated choose the "six months until die" end to leave options open for a sequel, as this end can be conclusive and not at the same time

-they can make a sequel with new characters and histories, V history is ended and die after six months

-they can make a sequel with V again, V cure will be part of the argument or the history in the next game.

SPOILERS! Of a kind.

Just finished myself (going the Rogue/Johnny raid route).

I think the most positive comment I can make about the game is that it is memorable.

Did I enjoy it? Up until The Heist, yes. After that, it becomes a rather miserable, depressing grind, where my only concern was trying to save V. And that is not possible. It's a no-win scenario.

Never gave a damn about most side quests or gigs after that point. They all became irrelevant in light of the main story. Why would V give a damn about doing anything other than saving her/his life. You wouldn't. No-one would. It would be your primary concern. Nothing else matters. And it doesn't.

Games with no-win ending are not a fan favourite with me. Yeah, this story might make an interesting film or book. But a game? No. People play games to win. It's supposed to be a challenge to confront, pit yourself against and surmount. When the only 'challenge' a game can present is simply finishing it, then it would be better presented in another format.

As for DLC, if there's any. I wouldn't bother, unless it possibly pulled a Deus Ex Machina and gave V back their life somehow. Anything else would just add to the grind to the inevitable end. Which is money better spent on something actually enjoyable.

Ah, well.

I'm sure there's many who would disagree with me. But each to their own.

The endings open to two things, RP or DLC

RP i can easily RP every single character i've made through most they endings to come out with whatever ultimate end i want and thats normally better than what any developer can do because noone beats how i choose my char to end

DLC, a sticky point for some, not so much for me, because ppl tend to cry and moan if they're asked to pay more ontop of something their not already happy with to "fix" what they don't like, case in point CP ending, i had a problem with it on my first run because i didnt really listen/read what was told to me, 4 playthroughs later im fine with it because i listened and read better what folks said, it aint great but it aint as bad as ppl make out and the vast majority of them can easily be railroaded into a single narrative (like the life paths all converge easily into one narrative) if CDPR was obliged to do so to give V and crew a "better" ending, tbh it's actually set up pretty well for that, but even if it didn't happen there is plenty room to RP your V surviving and living very happily.

Misty even says so and mistys never been wrong

Kind of a waste of time, but something interesting about them. Each one seems to imply they were tailored to fit a particular character background. Like they were roughs of where each background might end up, but since that was generally cut down they just let the player choose at the end. Doesn't really matter, you can just reload in and make different choices at the end to get most if not all.

For an interactive novel it was good. Worth going through once. When it goes on sale.

I'm not upset at the "Six months to live" issue, it's obviously to keep the game open for DLC with is fine, but the endings are still garbage. I did the Nomad ending and it was like playing an entirely different game, sort of a COD without the proper game mechanics. Unlike the rest of the game there was one way to go and you were totally on the rails, and honestly the final battle was so glitchy (it wasn't counting Quickhack kills for me so I had to redo it and use weapons) and the tank was like driving a greased watermellon in a kiddy pool.

Even worse is the special, super secret ending, at least so far. Luckily I had the required % and happen to read about having to wait but...
So I clear out the lobby and go to the elevator where Jonny says we need to search for a key and immediately start getting shot from behind, turn around and the f'n room is filled again, no sound of footsteps or yelling or any warning at all and no time react so you die. Plus because you, for some reason, can't save even though you cleared the lobby you have to do the whole damn thing again... I know it's supposed to be hard but it shouldn't cheat you to do it. Damned annoying.

I still say giving body to Johnny ending is the best outcome. Because V is 100% intact. Absorbed, but intact in Alt. Do sequel sauce. Rescue the bastard out of Alt. V is back. VS the other endings that have V critically wounded. Because they didn't set it up that once a Relic takes over a body. Another Relic can't be used to extract or restore the original engram. Only time was against them. If they could have stayed in Mikoshi and built a new Relic chip. I would have done: Panam final mission, Kill Smasher. Make a new Relic chip. Offload V's chip into Smashers body. Than swap Johnny and V between the two bodies.

V can't die, they are gonna release expansion packs and sequel(i think). It is just a plot point. But endings are trash when you finished the game first time.

I agree, it sucks that V dies in all endings, the protagonist should live in at least one of the endings,
the description of the game is to find the chip of eternal life and yet you die anyway!

Oh so that's what it was, damn, thought something had exploded right next to me and I died all of a sudden because BUGS, it was literally like this -Me: Awesome, shredded everyone, let's move o.... DEAD- not even a peep or a hint in the map of enemies, weird AF, but I mentioned this on another thread, this game feels more of a introduction of V while also bringing to a closure the whole Altiera-Arasaka-Johnny triangle.

I mean, the whole game hints continously at this, mroe than the game being V doing everything as a main character, he shares that spot with Alt+Johnny+Night city itself, makes even more sense reading back a lot of CP2020 stuff, also, anyone here wonders WHERE IN BLAZES IS BLACKHAND???

Damn right, to me it makes sense not only due to V still being alive but even Alt mentions something along those lines when you're talking with her and Johnny, although the other endings can be tweaked in a dlc/another game to make it so that V wants to get together with his rockerboy friend after he got back his life, but hey, for the moment I'd rather have a game with the less amount of bugs possible lol

They will release two expansion pack like Witcher 3's, it is promised. And imo they won't give up the character customization and other rpg stuff(it is lack, but after complains they will probably make it wider with DLCs and Expansion Packs). So they have only two choices. We will play as new main character(customizable like V) which is unlikely or we will continue playing as V.

They promised many things and much of what was promised less than 1 month ago from the launch was cut content. There is no news.
I guess it's an order not to give answers until the holidays are over. And let's not forget the demand from investors for this very reason.
