lack of confirmation?
Judy is talking more then once about her ex girlfriends/lovers
When you get the call for the Pyramid quest and you ask her if thats a date
she literly tells you that you are not her type
when you give her compliments about how good shes looking in a diversuit
she tells you dont go there

i mean... iam a man... iam realy bad in receiving hints from woman...
but even i did understand that shes only into woman
Again all that still doesn't say Hi lesbian here it just leaves it open to assumption, confirmation on these matters is very important in an RPG, what you are describing is what tells we read in reality, This isn't translated in a game, It actually harms it more, another way of looking at it is, why have the option to make a move, even be there if romancing isn't available? It's social misdirection no matter how you cut it.

Petitions usually never work unless it has something tangible to offer or solve, you have currently two signatures, even if you had two million it wouldn't make a difference, that boat has sailed since it wasn't implemented before the release of the game, CDPR would look bad now if they did it, meaning more negative headlines on social media and elsewhere. So this just an exercise in futility.
Exactly, if now they change her, Judy wont be same unless they make dlc quest as such where you might hit(which still people wont like and has 0.000001% chance of happening).
The most they can do is as you were able to flirt with her, you can confess to her at one point, which she will decline and you can get an unique end credit where she talks to you in a awkward manner to just check on you.
(Here I literally mean the most they can do)

I can see that it's a touchy subject but I also feel like my aim is being somewhat misunderstood. ::shrug::

I feel ya my dude, you don't seem to have bad intentions at all, it does seem kinda touchy in the forums. I personally really enjoy that characters have their own sexual preference regardless of V.

Is there a particular character that you'd wish wasn't locked behind a specific preference?, if so, perchance you play on PC; there might be some mods you could be willing to try.

I'm sorry but are you honestly trying to equate wanting romance options that more faithfully mirror the trans, gender neutral, and gender nonconforming experience with... wanting the ability to "identify" as a murderer??? If this isn't the mother of all bad faith arguments I honestly can't imagine what is...

Nope I equate total freedom of actions with total freedom of actions.

bah, whatever. a mod on nexusmods already offers the possibility to romance judy as a male and panam as a female. mods are made for that, I won't say it was much needed, but that's a solution to make everyone happy.
you just need to have the game on pc...

Yup that is my point. Create your own story with mod.
Although they cannot provide all stuff you want.
Like I can not go out with this girl from intro montage:cry:

Wow. I get you want to have sex with whoever. But can people push more to make V allowed to be able to change genders. So you have to fit the characters requirements. You want that ass, you pay for it.

Every few days or so, a thread about character sexuality pops up and the discourse is always the same...

Starting to feel like this forum is having it's own version of Groundhog Day :coolstory:

So I'm going to leave this here, a words to live by...

Personally i liked how our romance options had their own personal preferences, just wish relationships and friendships were fleshed out with more content. On a side note I don't know if it's just me but female nomad V felt like a lesbian character.. it wouldn't have felt right for me to romance River (no vibe there lol). I didn't meet Kerry or Meredith so at least I have some other options to explore on my second playthrough after patch 1.1.

I don't deny hints exist, it's the lack of confirmation that creates unnecessary ambiguity, this breaks immersion for a portion of the player base but I respect your views, to add this still doesn't prove that the character isn't Bisexual stating someone's not your their type is again an elusive approach instead of just saying , sorry I'm lesbian, this would be the best way to handle it.

To be fair,

Judy: "Don't go there, dude."

Seems confirming and unambiguous to me, but maybe that is just me? Either she does not like V, dudes, or both. But since no means no, and Judy owes V zero explanation about her sexuality, what else do you need for confirmation?

  1. You can spot that something is going on between Evelyn and her if you pay attention. There are messages between the two on her PC as well.
  2. She states that she had "a big crush" on Maiko in Ex-Factor (biggest confirmation).
  3. There is a laptop near the door, to the right after you enter Maiko's office, which reveals some important background on Judy's and Maiko's relationship (big confirmation as well).
  4. If you are playing as Male V, during the call from her inviting you for some diving, you can ask her if it's a date, and you'll get a clear "You're not my type, holmes!".
  5. During Pyramid Song, if you compliment her on how good she looks in her wetsuit, you get a "Don't go there, dude."
  6. Pyramid Song, again, after you dive and go to the calibration part, she asks you to swim around her. If you swim behind her and look at her booty for a sec, you get a "Like the view, asshole?", and then if you compliment on how fit she is, you get an "I'm gonna pretend I didn't hear that."
  7. After you reach the underwater gas station, you can find an old doll in a barrel and ask Judy about it. She reveals that that doll is Jenni's from her childhood, but she hid it so that Jenni can notice her.
  8. While in the underwater church, if you choose the option "Didn't get chased out?" she states that she had a crush on Jenni.
What else do you need?

Ironically because the source cod was already there just had to be switched on, one persona even pointed out that it states in the code as just, player instead of female_player or Male_player,

Your missing my point entirely, Your looking at this as if it was reality, this is a game of choice, romancing is part of that and when there's no direct confirmation on game characters with regards to sexuality this can only lead the player to conclude this is an option and with no way of knowing how a story will end the player can only run on said assumption unless told otherwise, But instead the scenario plays out the same with the only change at the end, This means when you create your experience be it male or female your being directed differently solely off the gender you chose and this is only apparent at the end, to further conclude no matter what the prior hints, tells or indirect ways it skirts around it, If it never does eventually confirm before the option to romance is suggested, the player can only be left with a level of assumption, I'm coming at this from a gameplay point of view and the writing falls short here to take male V into account, But the issue here is i'm trying to explain my perspective with a majority still with an inward perspective on the subject thus I'm literally banging my head against a wall trying to find anyone willing to put personal feelings aside and look at this from a game-logic standpoint, It's flawed.

It's totally flawed. Because they didn't want to do proper dialog and animations for rejections. They did the wall approach. Romance is active, till game checks you're wrong gender, Romance ends. Example. River invites V up the water tower. This is for the romance. This is enabled for both male and female V. Improper usage.

Correct real life outcome would be. Remove water tower scene, when player is male V. Scene is replaced with a new scene. Which allows River to give Male V his gun. But in no way enables the romance option sequence. If player attempts a romance option, it's rejected with the dialog. But has proper animations. 3rd alternative. Romance is rejected. But if the game supported changing character mid game. You'd have a dialog tree setup to say: " I will change myself into a female for you, River!" This than gives you the romance option back.

Bing bang boom. Better romance logic and a option to screw any of the characters.

Do you assume every lesbian goes up to people and says this? That everyone who is queer openly comes out about that to anybody that's in proximity or tried to hit on them? Do you think people haven't tried to make a move do someone with the opposite sexuality preference than them? Welcome to real life, this happens literally every day. A person has ZERO obligation to share their sexuality with anyone, or even tell the truth about it.
