I can't get my silver sword reforged to any type when I go to the armorer in Act II, they will only do business with members of the Order. What gives! I have 3 blue runes and 1 sun rune, and I want to reforge the silver using 2 blue and 1 sun. Is it better just to get the 3 blue rune than the 2 blue and 1 sun? I even bought the 3 blue from the dwarves and tried to add the 2 blue and 1 sun using the dwarf blacksmith, but it wouldn't apply the sun rune.

Are you talking about runes or meteorites? You can have sun, moon and earth runes and apply them to your silver sword. And there are three meteorites - blue, red and yellow used to forge steel swords. Runes cannot be applied to steel swords.

I was hoping for a moon rune or yellow meteorite in Act III, but got impatient and went ahead with a 3R Steel Sword and 3E and 1S silver sword. Then I got the sword in the swamp, and discovered you can quick draw from the lower right weapon slot by pressing 'R', so I'm walking around with three swords. Trouble with that is enemies usually get the first swipe cuz I'm still trying to decide which sword to kill them with ;DThese swords are pretty good so far. I'm glad I didn't wait. I noticed also wtih the 3R Steel Sword there is a green mist that appears on my opponents after I hit them. Is there a poisoning effect or something else going on? Cheers!

From what I've gathered through gameplaying (and getting poisoned)... the green mist does represent poisoning.

This forum section has a lot of help for getting the game to run properly: http://www.thewitcher.com/forum/index.php?board=14.0I would try there. there are some very technically oriented and helpful moderators and others in there.

Hi!which one is the best silver sword in the game in your opinion? Here is a list of swords that I believe to be the best among all the silver swords you can get in the game :AerondightDamage +60%Attack +10%Chance of critical effect : pain, blinding, incineration, precise hit +50% 3 moon runesDamage based on combat styleIncreases opponent's sensitivity to silver +45%2 moon & 1 earth runesDamage +30%Chance of critical effect : knockdown +75%Increases opponent's sensitivity to silver +30%Moon BladeDamage +100%Aerondight gives nice mods, but are they truly useful?I mean I've never seen a monster being doubled up with pain, getting blinded or even burning after it got hit by Aerondight...ok it gives a cool +60% Damage, but you can have this with Argentia oil or that orange rune I forgot the namethe one and only mod which seems usefull to me is "precie hit" because I use the group style a lot, but I can't even tell if it's actually really working or notI would say the "2 moon & 1 earth rune" sword is the best, it gives a decent dmg bonus and nice mods too : knockdown +75% (this mod does work!) and sensitivity to silver, which is like increasing dmgswhat do you think?

For boss fights (such as Koshchey), raw damage from Moon Blade is best. Most of the time, however .. +50% precise hit gives Aerondight my vote. It's scary enough to use reliably against humans. Just throw one igni, then one swing in group silver = carnage.

I prefer Aerondith for roleplaying reasons. I mean, it was given to Geralt by the Lady of the Lake as a special reward for bringing peace and security to her lands. I am her knight, and the sword is a token of her grace, so I'd best keep it and clean the dust off it every now and then. Preferably with some monster blood. ]:->

Can a kind soul please list out what the dentist requires? Which Act is the quest in anyway? Can't seem to find it in the gamepressure.com guide. i'm at the end of Act 1 now so if need be i've to meditate to night to kill one of those little suckers again

I first encountered the dentist in Chapter III, but he's also there in Chapter V, where you can continue your quest. Basically, keep all sorts of teeth, jaws and skulls you find while slaying monsters (and fistfighting ;)). You'll get a small amount of experience for each plus a bit of cash. When you deliver one of each type of teeth, you'll get the special sword. I'm told that the Barghest skull isn't necessary for the completion of the quest, but if you're still in Chapter I, I recommend you get it. Also remember to save a devourer tooth before you finish Chapter IV. ;)

that's also why I've been using Aerondight till the end of the game, but since I never got to see its mods work, I start to think it may be a good idea to throw it back into the water where it belongs ;D

I could say Aerondight for same reasons as Planewalker, but in endgame, I useMoonblade + Perun Stone. Does more than well. ;)

Don't know about others but 2Moon+1Earth is scary efficient, and someone actually did a research that concluded that 2M+1E does MORE damage than Aerondith.

Ah crap! Chapter V went by so fast I didn't get a chance to get any of the improved swords OR the upgraded armor! GRRR! Guess I'll have to play through again! :) Thanks for all the good info in this thread.

For dentist quest, you need:- Barghast Skull (optional) - sell for 50 orens, not required to complete quest.- Beast Fangs (earliest available in Chapter 1 from dogs, or Chapter 2 from Wolves).- Fleder Fangs (earliest available in Chapter 2)- Cemetaur Jaw (earliest may be available in Chapter 2 in Swamps or Chapter 3)- Devourer Teeth (earliest available Chapter 4 in Fields and sometimes in the Village)- Alp Fangs (earliest available in Chapter 4 in Crypts)- Famous Fistfighter's Tooth (reward for completing the Fistfighting quest in Chapter 5)
