Only men who are deliberately training to look good have a stature like Geralt. And somehow I doubt he's doing workouts each day and keeps a strict diet. ;-)

This is completely incorrect.

Men with a high shoulder to waist ratio tend to have high natural levels of testosterone so there's nothing girly or feminine about them. It's a normal trait that many athletic men have, and they don't need to be in the gym to have it.

Sheesh, are you guys all fat or overweight or something? The amount of focus you're putting on his "girly" waist line certainly indicates such..

I don't see any intelligent responses other than a bunch of ad hominems, like people who are noticing the flaw are fat. How does that merit a serious response?

I don't know what this was in response to, but this is irrelevant to the issue.

Geralt's waist looks disproportionately small when you take into account the thickness of his armor. The armor is padded on the top, but it is just as tight, so we can assume that the curviness which occurs towards the lower end of his abdomen is physical, and not an artifact of the armor.

His character modeling is exaggerated on one end of the spectrum for the lower half of his abdomen, it looks disproportionate with the rest of this balanced body.

Seems the relationship between anatomy and pattern is not well known. By the way the shoulders of that awful armor have at least 4 layers of material, low body one, although it is logical that they were two. And there are different fabric woven with the same number of strands of cotton yarn can be created from diaphanous tulle to sturdy sheets. The same for leather or metallic fabrics.

Not know the exact thickness of materials that armor, so how can you be so sure that it is not possible? In which you base you a part of a frame? or what materials and / or calculations, CDPR's dev have relied to do so?

If anyone has the real answers I'd like to read. Maybe someday, any member of the department of creativity CDPR enlighten us.

This topic is so stupid, that it literally requires stupid responses.

I don't know what this was in response to, but this is irrelevant to the issue.

I was just curious as to how people can equate a narrow waist with femininity, when a narrow waist is typically a masculine trait. So perhaps they are used to seeing men with thick waistlines (or perhaps they have a thick waistline themselves) and think thats normal and masculine.

Geralt's waist looks disproportionately small when you take into account the thickness of his armor. The armor is padded on the top, but it is just as tight, so we can assume that the curviness which occurs towards the lower end of his abdomen is physical, and not an artifact of the armor.

It's all in your head. His waist does not look disproportionately small to me, because I can disassociate the thickness of his armor pieces from his actual build. It only looks that way because he's wearing a chest and shoulder pieces which artificially augment the size of his upper torso.

His character modeling is exaggerated on one end of the spectrum for the lower half of his abdomen, it looks disproportionate with the rest of this balanced body.

Again, try disassociating the armor from his actual build and you'll see his build is perfectly proportionate.

The topic is «stupid» and then you go and take part? How pungent.

No. It's not subjective at all. Women in their twenties and thirties tend to have narrower waists than men, so as to accentuate their hip to waist ratio. It's a sign of fertility.

Maybe Geralt had his stomach removed, so it's all armour in there. Now that's a reasonable explanation

I have to ask you: do you think Geralt's waist looks the same as in previous games?

And TW2 is front faced (which give the whole witdth) and TW3 lightly leaned (which lead to an optic effec, one which professional photographs like use a lot with models to seem thinner)

And everyone knows that black colors and lights blurring contours which promote the illusion of thinness. At less, fashion designer know it well.

I see nothing wrong with him wearing such, I imagine even though he probably still has good amount of muscle mass given his age his belly might have developed multiple layers of flab so rather than walk around with big fat belly he would rather give the impression he is still the man he once was.I can understand why he might wear some support around that area at his age. It's more related to the armour wearing than his bodies actual shape, if wear something else I imagine would look same as used to. The armour he is wearing in that trailer is different to the one in past so I do not think it is a fair comparison. A man in a leotard does not look same as man in a loose shirt.

One of these days I'm going to make myself invited, fly up to Tarragona and eat a boatload of it, while you make me so more on the stove.

I'm pretty sure the waist is overly narrow but I guess viewing it from all angles might help us sort things through. I remember seeing one of the first screenshots and thinking Geralt had gown a hunchback...

I'll make them myself only for you! No need to invited yourself, you're welcoming!

And, yes, the same horrible effect with the pose in the tavern....I remember it
But as you must know the visual effect is not the same when one wear a t-shirt or shirt out or in trousers (is this a good way of say it?)
