Here's the new waist for comparison (sorry for bad quality)

The skinniness is exaggerated on the new waist. Geralt is practically a stick, lol.

Well, I love my men tall and lean so I love the new armour. It's simple, sexy and looks comfortable, protecting the shoulders, neck and chest (and exposing delicious butt). TBH I wasn't THAT impressed with TW2 outfits, they looked over-stylized and too colorful, do you think Geralt would be such a fashion-aware guy to wear leather jackets with so many ribbons, belts and trillions of colors? Yeah, they were nice to look at and matched the rainbow palette and rich renaissance-like visual style of the second game, but I think CDPR is aiming at simpler, a tad more realistic look of the next installment. So super-colorful and extravagant armour design (for Geralt anyway, I bet) had to go. From now on I bet we'll see a lot more subdued color range. Blacks, grays and browns are the new black.

And I don't care about the hairstyle. But I'm probably biased because I hated the default TW2's ponytail and stuck to "Cintrian Pendulum", which was by far my favorite. :)/>

So yeah, count me in as the only person here completely happy and satisfied with the new and improved Geralt.

EDIT: but I wish we could get TressFX for the characters' hair... Yennefer's black locks could look like PIXAR's Merida :)

Yeees!

OH! and let me add that this thread begins to remember me the one about females' armours of TW2. Why is bad that a man such Geralt can show his perfect and proportionated shape and a butt worthy of being frisked??

First time when the screens pop'ed up, insta loved the default armor design, he looks more agile with that on in the latest trailer from E3, at least visually. If they keep it, I'll be glad.

Okay, I am glad this is eye candy for people who like that, but what about for everyone else? We're not supposed to get any eye candy?

Seriously, this shouldn't be about eye candy, and I don't think this is about the armour style or color scheme. I like this armour style and color scheme too, but Geralt's body looks anorexic, and it reminds me of characters in JRPGs :/

Just not what I want to role-play as

Geralt probably stopped caring about trivial things like eating regularly and shaving his beard.

I now pictured Ciri scolding Geralt for not eating his supper.

Yeah, my first reaction was 'Trailer is fucking awesome.. not a fan of the Gimp suit thing though.

If the art department is reading this, I want to let you know that I was a huge fan of the Costume design in the Witcher 2 (I'm a game artist myself.) All the regal elaborate costumes, the Sorcerer's costumes and Geralt's alternate Cuirasses were superb in my opinion, What's been shown so far of the Witcher 3 looks a little bland in comparison, and maybe it doesn't suit the storytelling, He's not carrying any of the many signature Witcher professional items like his Bestiaries, his elixirs and potions classically set upon his belts that tells the story of who he is. There's nothing wrong with a thicker silhouette :)/>/>/> In fact the Witcher 2's art direction was superb and beautiful, I know you guys are just holding back and showing only the generic armor you get at the beginning of the game. There'll be better ones! Show us some more of this awesome stuff!

this is absolutley signed by me. The Witcher 2 i think had the best costume designs i ever saw in the game: Awesome Witcher, Fancy, but still realistic mages, proud kings, and awesome medieval soldiers and knights. I hope you continue that in The Witcher 3

Not a big fan of the armor but I don't mind since everyone knows there will be a wide selection to chose from.

@sirmaq, please include in your calculation also the the thickness of the upper armor and shoulder pads and see that the proportion of Geralt body is perfect and there's no lack of a single piece of muscle.

This particular armor is a bit weird. It is very good at the top, thick and strong, and it emphasizes Geralt's shoulders, but then its thickness drops to zero as if it is a simple thin cloth with a painted pattern. You even see a transition from a normal armor to a weird part around Geralt's waist. Just make it a bit thicker there, and it will be perfect.

Yeah, if they can get Geralt to look like this, that would be perfect.

I read the title and was expecting a Withcer 2 mod that enables Geralt to wear Triss' wardrobe.

You're wrong. Even with the subtracted bulk of the shoulder padding, his waist is disproportionally smaller, making him look anorexic.

I don't know.
Perhaps this is all connected...

Microsoft bribed CDProjekt into making Gerlat thin-waisted, so that the model could not be rendered on DRM-free systems. Notice John Mamais, CDProjekt team member appearing at Microsft's E3 conference, pay attention to his own waist...one too many Twix bars, that's what I say. And what rhymes with Twix?

UNIX!

A conspiracy. Sounds pretty credible to me.
