I think - here is the point..
I see big difference between "impresion" and actual look of older man, so I think - she just saw his aging in his eyes and in his eyes and some wrinkles. But not in general.
Two times there was mentioned, that physical process of aging was holded. But that picture gives me impression of many years, between last game and this.

One point for you ;)
Eng is not my native language. I will study more intensively.

She had impression mainly from his eyes - this is really right word, but connected to psychological appearance and facial expression, I have got that impression (about his actual visage) from physical appearance. He just seems too old for me. :)

Yea, I don't really see that, it just looks like Geralt from TW2 with a beard. Beards tend to make people look older than they'd look like without one. The fact that it's white enhances the illusion even further. However, the devs have already said that the player will be able to shave Geralt's manly facial hair so you should be fine. :p

That beardling makes him look like a friendly grampa.
It would be nice to have an option to grow a beard, change hair style, get tattoos.

Personally I think I'll let someone shave his beard after a while. I guess the only reason he got his beard is because he's all by himself in search of something he lost/loves. Going through the wilderness and being too occupied to take a breather, I guess he hasn't bothered with it. At least that's how I'll look on it. I mean Geralt is pretty old, but I wonder what his philosophy is behind having a beard.

Some people think growing a beard symbolizes uncertainty of your future. As a man, I think growing a beard means you simply want to change your appearance a bit, and perhaps do not have the need to appeal to young girls :p. Don't look too much into it, sometimes growing a beard is just that, and we do it just because.

In Geralt's case it could be all of the above: a symbol of his uncertain path, a consequence of his other multiple preoccupations, or maybe he just wants to look good for those Skellige islanders.

But whatever it is, I think it looks pretty cool. I personally think playing as clean cut, elvish hero wannabes is overrated.

Or it's hockey season, and your team will lose if you shave.

On a related note, I imagine Geralt would keep his beard if he thought it raised his sex appeal. But Senteria, is right- he didn't have any special reason for growing it. I'd like it if he just kept it, actually, haha.

Yes, I usually don't shave a day, because of laziness. Sadly I can't grow a proper beard and after one day it starts looking like crap. ^^ So no real beard for me. :(

Hope Geralt won't behave like an old, tired with life, broken person. Hope, he keep his snarky humor and ability to kick some monster ass.

Also best Geralt:

Yep if there is one actor I would love to see play Geralt, Mads Mikkelsen is that actor.

Remember how they portrayed Vesemir in TW1? Worst case scenario we end up playing him. No big deal.

Vesemir is 4 times older than geralt. He is over 400 years old.

Precisely. If Vesemir can keep up with the "younger" witchers and battle a Frightener, I am sure no matter how "old" Geralt is in TW3 he still has some stamina left in him.

Funny to think this tread finally urged me to register...

So, about the beard:
I think, that the beard suits Geralt - as long as it's not a completely unkempt mess.
It shows he has changed from the past erperiences, has matured somewhat and I think if done right it will make him look extremely badass! Plus a beard might even emphasize his "hermit"like attitude towards politics, e.g. "why the fuck should I care?"

But I mean, the guys already announced, that we will be able to shave it, so there's no problem in the end. I would really like to know, how they approach the shaving and haircut issue:
does the beard grow "regularly", and you have to shave to get rid of it?
That would be awesomely realistic (like getting really rough-looking after spending 3 days hunting something), but I can see it migh become a pain in the ass, if there's no way to toogle this inactive.
Or is it the more simple and lamer "go to the barber and grow insta-beard you choose", which imo kinda goes against the more realistic open world and everything time based aspect?

Source?

Because, on many, many forums people can't even agree about how old is Geralt (but most popular opinion is that he, as well as Yen are in their nineties). I don't recall any hint, from Saga, about Vesemir's age, except that he is very old.

There was only one statement that Geralt was over 100 years old, and it was not official.

Geralt over 100 would be older than Yennefer and old enough to remember the Kaer Morhen pogrom.

Nobody said Vesemir was four times Geralt's age, and if anybody did, it was without foundation in either the books or the games.
