The video game character shown in the trailers for TW3 looks like a run-of-the-mine white dude like in every other video game. He has no distinctive facial proportions. He looks like a generic 3D model with some fancy beard and scars attached to it. He has written lowest common denominator all over his forehead.
The painter of the comic instead gave Geralt a really distinctive look. His prominent chin, his shrunken cheeks, his big nose, his more "Slavic" facial proportions, the hard look on his face, his cat eyes, all of these distinctive traits give him a unique and way less generic look. In the comic he really looks like someone common people would probably fear ("raptor face"), no comparison to the generic and "statistical" look he has in the trailers for TW3 so far.
Even the Geralt in TW1 had a way more distinctive face. Is this the route to mainstream again? Making another generic white male character who looks barely different than most of the other video game characters out there???
PLEASE, CDPR, show some courage. Don't make Geralt a lowest common denominator character with the generic face of a white western model with some tagged on scars. Please have the balls to make him imperfect (scars not included). Please make him unique. Please make him the person he is, a witcher who has gone through too much, a person who has seen too much, a warrior who has become hard and unforgiving. You should be able to see all that while looking at his face. You shouldn't have to look in a generic face, made in a video game character face cloning factory instead of marked by a long and dangerous live and a cruel and radical mutation in his youth.
