Well, I didn't really now which one topic to choose and finally I picked this one. Don't know if it fits best what I want to write... The important part is that I've got new info ;D-------------------Before reading this one, you should definitely become familiar with trailer and text on GAMESPOT and TEXT about how Reds are going to improve Geralt’s face etc.You should also know that the head visible on trailer belongs to Demawend, lord of Aedirn.-----------------Despite fact, that conference is going to be held tomorrow, some Polish journalists have already seen Geralt in action. Especially one text is very interesting, but it’s way too long to be translated. I’ll just give you most important info from it in pill, if you want, make Google translate it ;)Story starts just after W1 left it. Main plot in story concentrates on king being killed. Plots from W1 are to be continued. There will be some flashbacks from period of time between Geralt’s death (in Saga) and beginning of W1.There will be W1’s save importing. It will cause your money, items and abilities carried to W2. Also decisions made in W1 will somehow affect W2.There are now no different combat styles. You can randomly join strikes with rolls, dodges, sings, firecrackers etc. into one combinations ended by powerfull fatality. There will be 3 types of Geralt’s development: sword-master, alchemist and sorcerer – the one you pick (by choosing abilities) will decide about bonuses and extra abilities. There will be companions helping Geralt. They fight and behave on their own [AI]. Geralt’s attitude to them will decide about game’s events and endings. While in dialogue, you’ll have to choose what Geralt shall say in some amount of time. If not managed to, game will decide for you, picking dialogue line that fits your actions most.Geralt will be able to meditate everytime, everywhere, but meditation could be disturbed now. There will be new mini-game related to mutagens creations.Game’s done in 60%, main story line is to take 25-30 hours. [About two weeks ago, Pan Karol said that whole story, including side missions will take 2-3 times more…]There’s possibility to make your own equipment (for example join sword’s blade with handle). There will be many things to use and to dress on.NPCs remember all of your actions, not only the latest ones and properly react them.NPCs live their own lives, following their needs, daily routine and day-night cycle. There will be four fractions – 1) Scoia'tael, 2) villagers, 3) merchants, 4) elves and dwarfs – all wanting something different from GeraltGenerally, game is going to focus rather on hard-to-make choices and mature story than fighting all the time. However, combat, drinking, alchemy, dating etc remain in game as its strong parts. Nonetheless, story’s most important for devs.http://polygamia.pl/Polygamia/1,95338,7695190,Zaden_plotek_nie_zatrzyma_Geralta__czyli_nasze_wrazenia.html--------------------------Dunno yet, but I’m considering releasing final version of my “W2 info collection” at the end of this week . Time will show what I shall do with that. Even if I had not – you can still translate my blog in Google. It’s not very accurate, but something is better than nothing ;)

Thanks yet again!Looks like we will have more interactions and more choices with 2 more fractions aka the villagers and the merchants. And the NPCs have become very clever...Nice.

Thank you for the info szypek26.Not sure what to think on the companions helping Geralt and also the game continuing with the dialogue if you are not fast on selecting.Seems to me that they are taking the ME2 road and I am not happy with this at all.

The new dialogue system reminds me of alpha protocol, and even if the game is not released its dialogue system seems nice. After all, it's not very realistic that Geralt take 5 minutes to decides if he helps the order or the Scoia'Tael

Surprising though that so much "spoiler" type story plots are openly revealed though eh? Not that im complaining but usually developers dont give out much info on storylines.

So you will decide the fate of many people dying in a few seconds instead of taking your time and making sure you actually know the facts.

That sounds right... but its wrong, if 'ya know what I mean ;)I guess that puts a "replay dialog" option out of the question which I really neeed.

Indigo Prophecy was like that too. :) I don't know what their inspiration is, but that's OK by me. Active dialogues!Thank you for all the information, it's all great. Finally, something that makes me happy about The Witcher 2.

I can say that after watching the cutscene movie on Gamespot, together the various screens, I've changed my mind about Geralt. I mean, I can expect that it will be a great game the same, and at the end I'll don't care whatever Geralt's look will be.

News are great! But the new Geralt style is not really impressive. The old is much better, I think. But Triss is amazing!Unfortunately, we will not see Jeniffer or Ciri... :((

Getting into this thread kind of late here, but now that I've had a chance to watch the trailer a couple times I have a bit of feedback to offer. My wife has also watched the trailer a few times and has feedback as well, this is the combined. Together we've played the Witcher 5 times. She's played it once on her own, too.My own feeling about his look is pretty simple, as long as the scar, white hair, eyes and especially the attitude are there, its Geralt. Other changes are far less important.HOWEVER, two changes that were made just don't fit at all. First, he's too muscular. It can be seen pretty clearly in the pond/lake that he and Triss are in. He should remain a bit "smaller" like he was in TW1 or even in the campfire video from the Rise of the White Wolf promo. Bulking him up like that is bad. Bulky equates into loss of agility and speed which are far more appropriate for a Witcher.Second (and this was one of my wife's biggest complaints). Where did his chest hair go? Both the Hexer TV show and TW1 both had Geralt with chest hair. In the pond scene with Triss, its gone. Now he looks like a competitive body builder or pro wrestler. Chest hair equates into masculinity. We'll be pre-ordering as soon as its available of course, but those two things kill it for my wife. She has had a major crush on Geralt for about 2 years now, and now with the new body appearance she's ambivalent.Hopefully CDPR will make Geralt a bit more like his old self. Changing too much just "because they can with the new engine" I think is a bad idea. Better to refine the existing than make Geralt completely different.

I'm gonna start with the question: Why fix something that's already perfect? In first game Geralt looks better than I could ever imagine him, face, hair, body, everything. Now his face is different, hair is redicules (he looks almost like Vesemir with that hair). I understand someone in team thought change would be refreshing, but no. Please import old look back and add more detail too it and better resolution and that's it. If not for estetic reasons, try following logic and you'll realise that with hair that heavy and long, surely Geralt will feel encumbered and a bit off balance while fighting, especially with his style.Or let me ask you this: Did you start with old looks and thought it sux, so you made this new one? What are your reasons, devs?

Totally agree with you.In TW1 Geralt looked absolutely perfect. Why developers changed it?? Because of new game designer?? :((

They changed it because after rebuilding faces of all characters like Triss, Dandelion, Zoltan etc, old Geralt's face looked just ugly. It could not be used in W2 as it's model is just old and does not look like face that any person (even the witcher) could have.Rember, that Geralt's face gonna change before W2's release. Read one of my previous posts - it's said what would be done

Xartius and the swordsandroses, please check the past few pages as this has been cleared up already with a lot of effort from syzpek26. While the geralt in the first trailer did not seem appealing, a lot has been discussed and clarified that showed that what you saw was unpolished. In the previous pages you can see what geralt actually looks like, and what they are trying to achieve prior to release of the game. Most people who initially had doubts are now ok and happy after clarification that has been made with a lot of effort from syzpek. Please do read the previous few posts at least so as to not repeat the old worries. Thanks guys!

New look is too smooth, I think. It would siut some JRPG character, but not witcher. Geralt needs more manliness and stubble.

Well even in the game it is said that the mutation accelerates muscle growth. It's not like we are dealing with a normal human that is build up, after all he is a mutant, and I suppose he can be extremely fast and strong at the same time. And imo the "chest hair" is just but a minor detail we can easily do without. :peace:

"I´m a muscle fa-a-aaan!" *Rocky Horror Soundtrack OFF*I think this is really okay. ;D As long as no one decides, okay - let´s make it really Schwarzenegger-like! (I´m sure this won´t happen - and if someone decides this - please don´t forget Red Sonia.)Maybe it should be mentioned again - wow - when is the release again - Q1 2011? A LOT can happen till then. Please don´t forget that. And also TW had several models before it was released. So we still have a chance, to get used to the old/new boy.Okay, and after I had another look at this TW2 Promo-picture, I´m jumping a bit with joy!

I believe chest hair and such are all secondary aesthethics. What we see in the trailer is the basic architecture. Im pretty sure artistic license will come in later with the necessary touch-ups. Based on my instinct, i'd say there will be chest hair once we get the final build.

Szypek, thank you very much for brief translation! I just didn't managed to wrote this text in both languages, simply had no time sorry:( Yesterday I've asked moderators for acurate translation for You guys and I hope they'll help.Anyway, with Geralt new face we aim at the face that you saw on GT banner. Actually the face from the banner is High poly version of in game low poly model - only texture and facial/head hair are different. In my post I've also explained why he looks so massive - he is wearing heavy armour which you can always change for lighter on even remove it leaving Geralt naked ;) It's your choice how he looks so there is no point on writing comments about it.
