Getting some weird graphical glitches

I re-installed the game the other day to start a third playthrough for fun. Problem is, I'm getting some weird graphical glitches. For one, my Yrden sign is creating some really funky stuff to happen. Also, there is weird shadow surrounding Geralt whenever he is near water or any smokey/foggy particle effects. I've uploaded a couple vids to show these issues. Sorry about the vid quality but I had to compress to get the sizes down (Fraps vids are freaking huge in native resolution).

Does anyone have any idea what exactly is going on in either of these instances? Some help would be greatly appreciated.

About Yrden. Did you overclock your GPU? I usually get this kind of artifacting when voltage is too low

Nope. I've never overclocked my GPU. I'm not tech savvy enough and would worry about messing something up.

No texture mods. Just tooltip and carry weight mods.

how did you purchase your game?
gog/steam or you bought the discs?
if you bought the game from steam or gog maybe there was an error or it didnt download well some parts ,while you were downloading the game and its causes those problems.

Bought at retail. I have installed and played the game all the way through twice already and this wasn't a problem before.

Ugh... that is not what I was hoping to hear. Also, do you mean turn off my firewall and anti-virus while installing? What is that supposed to do?

I`ll direct you to this thread . You may or may not have mods that you remember installing . Apparently causing the same Yrden glitch

Sounds like you have Better Texture Environment installed. This mod has been known to cause the texture glitches you describe.

Visual problems I found so far (after v3.3 patch):
05-04-2013:
- \CookedPC\items\work\remains_human_01 (folder) - if this folder is active when Gerald stands against a background of water a few black annoying artifacts appear.
- \CookedPC\items\geralt\geralt_signs\yrdentrap.w2ent (file) - if this file is active Yrden trap creates big colorful texture block (as dylanland reported)

That did it. I had totally forgotten that texture mod was installed. It was only when I looked at that nexus page that I remembered it came with weapon textures as well. Thanks everyone for replying. I'm glad I don't have to re-install.
