Girls Chamber

Well, my current g/f has been a gamer since she was very young as well as I. My first ex fiancée was as big a gamer as I was, and my 2nd ex-fiancée was also gaming since youth as well. I've also had many other g/f's that were just as avid in gaming. ;) I think it's just a sign of the times, and it's politicians, business and media groups who don't see that adults are also gamers, too.

I'm glad to see many female gamers on this forum, especially playing a "serious game" like The Witcher. In real life, I know only a few girls who play computer games regularly, and even they play only "cute" games like The Sims. :wall: There is still a widespread opinion in my country (and in the world, I guess), that computer games are a silly fascinations only boys seem to have, like the fascination with cars, or football. :-X

Hehe, yeah I hear ya. Even as a female gamer I meet that idea quite often, with guys and gals. They tend to look at me funny but honestly I don't care. While other people spend all their money on drinks, books, CDs, Movies or what not...I tend to keep my baby (my computer whose name is Nathan *hugs*) somewhat up to date with hardware and software (games in particular). They think I am crazy but I admit I don't mind. I just remember one day when a group of none-gamers heard me talk with a friend of mine and I think it was something like:'Oh yeah, that killing blow is awesome. Just sneak up and slit their throats. That was sooo cool.' I lost some friends that day, lol.Rest of my friends are all gamers which is nice way not to hear all the BS about games, gaming and gamers.

Way to go, KainsDaughter! ;) I'm currently trying to show my girlfriend the wonderful world of computer gaming. First I'll show her adventure classics like Grim Fandango and Syberia, so that she gets over the notion that computer games are just for people with twitchy fingers and a craving for bloody scenes, an so that she sees that games can be as fun and immersive as any book or film.

Good plan. I personally think there is a game out there for everyone. If it is RTS, RPGs, Shooters, City builders, small games or cute stuff, doesn't really matter. Just find out what is most likely her genre and drag her into the world of no escape!

*signed* I guess not many know that there are talented and prof CS players... female players... Zockerweibchen.de I think those girls easily let male CSler look pale 8)

so now we see - myth that only males play games :) Now, I see that few males are here to ask, and how bout them selfs? A girl mostly doesn't care what she plays - male or female char. And boys sometime feel ofendet to the fact that in Tomb Raider they have only a female to play :D Which char gender is better to play? (nicer, more to a ones taste)
Well to me dose not matter wich char gender I play dont care if it Female or Male as long it a good story line and fun to play and I never cared much for Tomb Raider was more into BloodRayne myself and when I played Sacred I chose to play the Seraphim wich I liked her stats better then the others ;)

True that, Seeker.I usually don't care about the character gender either as long as it suits the story. Of course it's nice to be able to choose what to play but it is no 'must'.Dark Messiah gives you no option either and I simply love that game.Greatest game ever concerning character selction and later on customisation was Morrowind, if you ask me. Choose the race, the gender and with some mods you had great graphics an a huge variety. Also the simple fact that you could equip every piece of armor seperately from the others was great. And one thing I really loved was that you could actually use pants, leggins, robes, shirts additionally to the armor. Was a good point...who would wear chainmail without something underneath it?Funny you mention Sacred, Seeker, cause I always played the Seraphim myself, or later on with the expansion the Demon. She rocked as well.Looking forward to Sacred 2, only hoping that it will be less bugged and more playable than the first one.

@KainsDaughter for me the Seraphim rocked big time lol and I'm looking forward to a Sacred 2 as well I did try the other chars in the game but found myself playing her the best.Thing is most of all there are guys that don't mind playing a Female but there are some out there that do it not for the right reasons on online game like WOW which my wife is player on some guys pose as Females just to get free stuff which to me is kind of low.and I found a lot of guys on Silk road when I use to play on there where a lot of guys posing as females just to get stuff out of shall way say not very smart player

@StarWolf: LoL good point.@Seeker: The Seraphim was a lot of fun, but I found myself enjoying the Demoness even better. Loved her comments too. I also tried the other characters and they were just not so much my thing. I guess I am just a sucker for dual sword wielding or 2-weapon-fighting in general. But yeah, Sacred 2 looks somewhat promising and what I am really looking forward to is the customization. At least it looks like we'll be able to choose some things for the character. Funny thing I keep hearing about female characters (especially on WoW and other mmorpgs), no matter if played by a male of female gamer, getting free stuff? What server are you on, lol. I just know that with the growing number of gold-beggars the attitude to give anyone anything for free drop drastically. The only place were it still works is within a guild or a speciifc community. I admit I have a male BE Hunter and weee, he IS a sexy beast (as sexy as it can get in the bloomy, colorful world as WoW). Why I did it? Cause I was tired or all those 10-16 year old guys randomly hitting the /flirt /love /kiss emote at my female char. It was funny at first but pretty soon started to be annoying.

For me it makes no difference whether the main character is male or female, as long as the story is immersive. Syberia and The Longest Journey had well-developed characters with loveable personalities, which was a welcome breeze of fresh air into computer gaming. King's Quest IV was the first (as well as the last) in the series to feature a female protagonist, and it fit the saga perfectly.

Female gamers unite! XD First of all, I love "the witcher". I started CRPG with Baldurs Gate and haven´t stopped playing since! I never thought "Gothic" could be replaced, but Geralt surprisingly did it. I´m impressed!I like those world weary bastards like Geralt who really kick ****, he´s a fine, charismatic character and I don´t want to miss him. No, it doesn´t at all worry me, playing a man - it´s quite funny and enjoyable, so enjoyable, I even got a bet running with my hubby whom of us "scores" more chicks in the game (think I already won). I jest here...What was this "thing" about sexism? ;)Uhm, I think it can be discussed, if this is appropriate even for an "adult" game. I would have "survived" if there wasn´t the chance to.. do it. No question. It just spices it up a bit and it fits the character. Always wanted to be a rake! (But I still guess from Geralts reactions, he thinks Jaskier to be a bigger rake than himself... yeah, yeah, this "famous" lute...)BTW: What would GTA be without the car quickie? (I laughed so hard, when I played it...)I also played Morrowind and Oblivion before, but there always wasn´t this depth in the storyline and I badly missed the humour in them. That´re often the two biggest problems for me, a callow storyline and lame dialogue! So I was more and more surprised when I met all these cranky characters in TW who don´t talk like wussies. This ambivalent talking of the characters really always makes my day. Last but not least - because I read this so often onto this board:Sorry for my terrific english.Have fun and - don´t get killed!

Talking about sexism... there was one comment from one of the noble-woman in the Trade Quater:"A witcher in bed cures my boredom." It made me laugh and I thought that was just a great comment. It is a more a convinience for both characters. And in a way she used him just as he used her -> nobody used anyone and they both enjoyed it - hopefully.. End of story - fair for both :)

@KainsDaughter Im only going on what my wife told me on WOW don't know what sever she on all I know it a non pvp sever LOL.But when I did play on Silk Road there where a ton of gold beggars what was Rea Sea.yes I died laughing when I heard that one about "A witcher in bed cures my boredom." as well as in the Merchant quarter where you pass one of the npc and says A witcher hide your women :DMaybe I'm just old but when I play a female char dose not distract me at all just because she made up sexy LOL

geralt is sexy and it doesn't distract me eather ;D whoever made his ass, was a geniusXDUnkreativ gaved an idea about Dandelion... It IS true how Geralt looks at this old friend of his :D Remember act3? 'learning what?!'... Sad thing Geralt doesn't really remember how he met Shani in oxenfurt... :D
Yeah, Geralts wonderful bum in leather trousers.[move] Yummy! [/move];DI still laugh about the part, were Geralt enters the home of the maiden who has Dandelions lute (after knocking her daddy out), the way she describes how they did the song (can´t remember the title) and Geralt assumes it´s a pervert song, that´s just so priceless. (Yeah, yeah, then he did ... with her, too... of course - ohh, what a life!)

Yes that was very ballsy ;D above all her father is still upset that this scallbag Dandelion seduced his daughter and Geralt lays her as well a few minutes later.

Well, people say a "witchers" touch is "special". Yeah, you will feel a little... "tingle"... XD

Really? I think Geralt in person said it... don't know if it was in the game or one of the short story novels. Anyway, I will believe it when I experience it, I don't care much about gossip and rumours ;D
