Girls Chamber

Hi! I was just roaming around this forum (I usually only read the news one) and found this entry interesting, so I'll introduce me for the second first time :D I registered here looong ago, in 2005 acording to the forum, but for my own sake I can't rememebr the password and the email I used is no longer available :'( :-\ I'm/was Arkk.... So I've been a lurker lately...I'm a girl and I'm from Spain, I love computer games and CRPG's the most. My all time favourite game is Ultima Underworld followed by Deus Ex and System Shock 2, Arx Fatalis, Dark Messiah (I can't stop playing this one again and again) Gothics and the Lands of Lore trilogy... why I like The Witcher? because I need a new GOOD RPG in my life and TW seems to have the appeal I need, and because I think Geralt is sexy ;D ;D He is the kind of charater I like to play, both in personality and skills, so I'm sure we both will be good 'friends' while playing.... (but if they hadn't implemented the WASD controls I wouldn't be so sure, I can't stand point and click controls :( )That is all.3 more weeks.....

@Cassandra31EEEthere's an upcoming Final Fantasy game for PS3, where the main character is a girl:
Also Final Fantasy X-2 was a game with only 3 characters and all 3 were girls.

@Arkk: Welcome (back)!Hmm, this is my first post in this thread. Well, I'll stand up and be counted: I'm a girl who has played PC games since the mid-Eighties, and not just girly ones. I think my favourite thus far are the "Thief" trilogy, which are like a beautiful animated movie (or three) for adults, and great role-playing fun. Looks to me like "The Witcher" will be right up there with those. ;D

I often wondered why women always had to have 'set aside' or 'labelled' areas just for them. For example, the "Women's Network" in U.S. Television. Why can't women simply and easily immerse themselves in anything they want to without having a special section set out for them.However.. I DO love this 'Girls Chamber' that was created in this forum. I have never been a 'gamer' so to speak and when you talk about 'Role Playing Games' I often just smile because in reality, each one of us has to play different roles in our lives. i.e. sister, worker, girlfriend, citizen etc ... so if you include that aspect, then it would be suffice to say that, "yes, I have been in role playing games!".I recently attended the Premiere Release of the Game here in Frankfurt. My boyfriend was given an invitation and had kindly included me. I was glad I went. I loved the graphics and the 'motion capture' technology. My BF did say that he thought WoW had better graphics. I wouldn't know. I've never been in WoW.What I loved most about The Witcher was the music, the graphics and the concept of the SRPG where the decisions you make will inadvertently affect the 'path or adventure' in the game. You cannot load and save your choices so that you can later pick the best option. In the presentation, one of the developers said that the one thing that was different about the Witcher from other games was the fact that thje choices or the forces were not really between GOOD and Evil but rather the player had to choose between the lesser of two evils. This very much is like Real Life.I consider myself a Girl Geek. I love gadgets more than clothes and make-up although I also like girly girl stuff. I am comfortable playing the roles of men, since I have a male avatar in Second Life as well as two female av's. I consider myself quite balanced with the male and female energies of my being. Actually, I may be MORE male in that aspect. Okay, that's enough now. It is nice to meet all of you here in the Girls Chamber!

Ive said this ones and will say it ones more gaming is not for guys anymore ;DIn truth some of the guys here do put there 2cents in here as well My wife a gamer and she loves it and you should see her when we go to the game store. And starts talking Warcaft Lingo :D

Hi I just joined today. Found this site through a link, believe it or not. I didn't know this game was to be released. But it's right up my interest list. I love the Castlevania series (funny that the banner was on my CV bboard I go to, targeted marketing there!) I've been a fan of that series for 20 years.I love RPGs, supernatural tales and sword and sorcery games. And this one looks great so far! I also love The Elder Scroll series and Age of Mythology.I am def picking it up, glad I got my laptop this summer, it should play on that. So off to do more research. Yes, I am a girl gamer, and it's nice to meet you all!

@mistressalucard welcome abord and LOVE the Avita seen it bee for some place but this old guy cant remeber where LOL.

Even tho I am a guy...I find this topic intriguing....I have notice ppl have been really stereotypical lately......Guys think all girls playing CG are fat and ugly..... 2 generalizations in one sentence... but that dont matter... I like this thread coz its something different than the rest of the forum (thumbs up for the creator). My personal thoughts about girls and games...met one so far...here in Australia.....she missed out on skool coz of a MMO... pretty ephatic...lonely most of the time....but nowhere near fat or ugly if she was to be judged on the level. The worst thing about her is that the game she was so drawn to...was about a pinguin jumping over obstacles and ducking when needed. 6 months of skool... coz of a pinguin. Must be a darn cute pinguin. To sum up this long...speech....the amount of hours spend in front of PC should be inversely proportional to the amount of time u spend with ur partner (psst...based on 'Sword of Fate' book). Many might get discouraged coz in Real lIfe you dont get collectable cards...lol

Wellcome to the forum Drizzt DoUrden yea most ppl think that only lonely guys play CG that have no life and are geeks Male and Femalewich is far from the truth I know a lot of female gamer and there far from fat and ugly lol most of mom and have jobs and so on.Sorry to hear about your friend thats one of pitfall about gaming some ppl dont know when to put the CG away and deal with real life seen it with guys as well as gals.one of the guys in froum put real life like this Live is a RPG with no save or reset :)

And let me guess....the choices you make affect you either straight away or some time after u made them......Yup there is no save and load ....usually as its hard to come back and have things the way they were...as for reset.....it might work but i guess the operating system might change.....or u will have to change it....PS. where are my manners indeed....Welcome everyone! Warm greetings from Australia and chilly heys from Poland...

uuups this is a very unusual story about that girl. I guess there must be other severe problems in her life that she got so isolated and spend all her energy in that jump'n'run (?) game. This sort of isolation and addiction is quite common in MMOs when player (female and male alike) lose their grasp to reality. I experienced such an "obsession" during my Diablo2 time. I spend every free minute on that game and my beloved chars but always after I have settled all my RL commitments. I don't feel comfortable with gaming when there's a RL case need to be done.Welcome to all new female and male players btw ;)

I briefly read this forum.I can say this much in regards to playing RPG games, its a nice escape from IRL(in real life) for most females and males alike. I know quite a few female's who play computer games, ranging from RPG games to such as this and FF series, like FFXI online. And even first person shooter games like battlefield 2. Which is great and I don't think nothing wrong with it at all.Second, as it was pointed out, there are games that have been out or comming out with a main female char. But don't forget games like Diablo II that let you pick a female based char. And even if there isn't a female selection, people do make little patches to alter the char, for like Two Worlds(Which the game was horrid and very buggy online, easy to glitch money and gear and wasn't much of a challenge to level up online or singleplayer), you could only pick male human. Someone made a patch to be female and I bet you, a lot of guys would like playing a female char, they more attractive to be looking at. =p

The stereotypes always amuse me to be honest. Especially when people find out I do like games, I get the eyebrow raise, and *you* like games? :eek:I have a good job, lots of friends, love my family, am a girl, not ugly or fat, do not live in the basement, own my own home and 'have a life'. :D I just like to play games too :D

:D I still get that eyebrow raise look :D The real fun part is when I tall them my age and they think Im to old to be playing CG game what get me is now there a add for brain teashers to sharpen your brain and it just cracks me up been doing it for many many years there called computer games :D :Dyea it veary stereotypes like all guys that play game live in there moms basicment :DWich I dont :D my wife and I have a 59acr horse farm so there always somthing to do here :)@Khuz yes it true there are game out there that the main char is a female wich I have played a few like BloodRayne wich I love playing still ;Dand True there is Diablo or Diablo like games that let you pick wich sex your want wich is cool.and even the idea of paches out there that change the sex of your char wich I think that a grate thing.I remeber playing Sacred and tryed each char of the game and found myself likeing the Seraphim (wich is a female ) best of all ;)And it was not for the outfit lol it was what she can do with her killing skills :D

A little overexaggeration there....not necesserily a basment :) But as I said its not the gun that kills it is the person pulling the trigger. With decent reservation and common sense most of the things in life we think of as bad or unhealthy turn out to be ...like a lesser evil sometimes even indifferent to everyone.. And as for ppl giving u eyebrow rises .......as someone said it once nicely they are hardcore pathetic.....lack of understanding , prejudice (spelling) and that certail template for a male and a female that they only accept , rejecting or approaching with distance all others. They are the once ppl shud rise eyebrows to......

The other two girls in my class play excessively games like ragnarok or mmo social-chat type of games with cute anime characters and stuff. I don't know. There are way too much cute, meaningless anime MMORPGS out there today. You stumble upon "play free mmo" advertisment everywhere. Thats why I put so much hope in the witcher :DLately one of my teammates (male, programmer) said he ALWAYS plays female characters if available. Made me think. I'm not that rigorous. But I enjoy browsing through every character option before starting an cRPG.Team Fortress2 is a nice example for a game which LACKS a female character. I have no problems with games where a female mainchar just wont fit. But in this case it hurts.

I see a lot of posts with people playing the game, I went and looked today and no one has it yet. Is it out everywhere or just in certain regions?
