Glass, ashes, and lead - not used (yet) in crafting?

Haven't discovered every recipe by far, but so far through mid game - haven't a single use for glass, ashes, and lead - which you can get as break down parts from various things you find.

They can't be broken down further, and don't seem to combine to make anything, or used in any recipe I've found.

Anyone know if they actually have a use?

I don't know. I haven't used any of them and I'm at level 23, about to start Act II. I can't speak for later in the game, but if that stuff is crowding up your inventory, sell it.

Well, if you do reasonable inventory management - what becomes the core issue isn't the couple stacks that weight a lot you can get rid of - but a bunch of 1 lb or half pound stacks that all add up.

And while ashes are the standard 1 lb per 100, glass seems to be lot heavier, I had something like 1.7 lbs without a full stack - so I chose to sell my glass, ashes, and lead along with partial stacks of less used supplies. Hopefully I won't find I need a ton of them later on.

Those aren't used for anything.
Also Fiend Dung is only used for a quest and not afterwards, but you still get them put into your alchemy tab, so feel free to junk those too.

I recall I have used wood to craft something, an armor maybe, just one diagram. It's the quality wood, I forgot the name.

I can honestly only remember using one item from the junk group. It surprised me so I kept it all until endgame. Meh. When in doubt, just sell those hides, skulls, ashes and well.. junk.

When I got two different Special Forces insignia (one from dismantling the Nilfgaardian dress you can wear to make the emperor horny) I thought I'd be collecting them for some purpose. I'm sad I never found one.
