Glitch During Lead Eorveth To The Prison Barge

Hi All,
I'm at lead Eorveth to the prison barge and am unable to complete the quest line
I start walking with him in town, get a few steps in and I get a movie scene pop up saying kill the bastard and then I get killed with arrows
I have also tried the other option in the story line and gone for the cliffs and as soon as I get close to the barge same issue.
Has anyone had this problem and no how to fix it.

Playing the tutorial seems to make you "wanted" when you get to Flotsam. Nobody's quite sure whether this is because you are stuck with the boots, or because you may kill an NPC who the game thinks is a Flotsam guard.

In this "wanted" condition, passing over certain trigger points will cause guard reactions. You may happen to avoid these until you get to the Act I endgame, resulting in this problem (which has been reported more than once).

Nobody has had a universal solution other than avoiding the tutorial: if you play the tutorial, do not proceed directly to the game; instead, start a new game or load a TW1 save.
