GOG Galaxy installing gwent (beta) Win7 issue solved
hope this would be a good place to put this

While installing gwent from gog the installer would stop failing somewhere around 80%
elevating gog (run as admin) did not help
disabling UAC DID
control panel user accounts change user account control settings lower the bar to the bottom and ok
you can put it back after the installation finishes
