Goodnight Night City, 180hrs and closure.

+
So just shy of 200 hrs I managed to get ALL the gig and scanner hustles completed, all the side quests and even managed to unlock the hidden ending (without trying as my friend told me to wait 5 minutes on the roof top to see). I've literally done it all except bought all the cars...

Did I make Night City a better place? I dunno, but my V is a Afterlife legend now and off to the stars.

Literally.

Yes I have a few achievements left like "shoot grenade in midair" and I COULD go back to watch the other endings, but for ME the ending I got is MY V's ending (I'd rather watch the other endings on youtube for other peoples V's).

So its time for me to leave Night City and I have to tell you...its hard. I really feel like it was becoming a place I went to visit each day. I was even starting to use lingo from this game indirectly in real life and catching myself (like saying thats gonked lol).

This isn't a complaint, I don't expect games to go on forever like some do. I never expected this game to be some kind of life simulator or the endless grind of Destiny - I'm not looking for that, I like closure. I like a game to "finish" because frankly I have a backlog to tackle.

Still it just feels so weird.

Despite my complaints that the gigs didn't really feel like they connected with the world in a meaningful way (well some did) or I expected more repercussions for basically destroying or wiping out every single gang member I'd ever seen...that it began to feel repetitive, I'm still gonna miss Night City.

I'm literally in the 5% of people who finished ALL the gigs (according to achievements) and done it all, seen it all. Now the streets literally feel safer and Night City some how quieter. I can't help wonder how it will change in 2 years when I return (after all the DLC is released).

Anyway until than...good night, Night City.

I'm off to the stars.

Don't want to rain in your parade. It's great to see people who made it and were victorious like that. I got what I wanted with the first try, went with Aldecados, I gave it a rest for a few days. Then I went to do other endings and they delivered way better than I expected. Aldecados will always be route my V went but experiencing others was really a something too.

They can be quite heavy in certain way though, but each has something to say. I guess it depends how much you are invested in bigger, sort of universal themes.

Make additional save if you go this route to save your canon V and her gear.

I did actually watch one ending (the Arasaka ending) on youtube with a male V and it felt very much like I was watching a corpo ending of another person (and not my V).

I TOTALLY understand what your saying though, and honestly I enjoyed seeing different things (and different places) and will watch the rest on youtube. I think the reaosn I don't want to play them with MY V however is because I donb't want to change how I see her end. To me the Afterlife secret ending to the stars was perfect for my V, the street kid and how I played her.

But I do understand what your saying.

Before I actually finished the game/made a choice/waited 5 minutes, I did the "bad ending" just because I was told its so emotional/easy to get and wasn't an actual ending (like you don't get an achievement for finishing the game) and boy was it. However my V would never do that to herself and would fight to the end, but it totally made me appreciate the work they put into giving everybodies V an ending that suited theres.

For my V, when I close my eyes and picture her ending I'll just remember her looking off into the stars floating in space. That just feels right to me.

Her last big adventure for now...

Here's looking at ya, from up there in the stars

I plan on keeping a save before I have to make the choice of what ending to choose. Just in case this has any impact on the DLCs and going to space. I took the Aldecado route which is my fav really. I imagine that whatever ending you choose tho, you will still get the option of going to space. Just a matter of what quest/how to do it.

Over 150 hours, 50 level and 50 street cred, 70% Johnny, all missions completed except for buying the cars and the car races:

Don't Fear The Reaper ending with Judy as my "squeeze".
This is what has me worried about the DLC. With endings like the suicided ending and the fact V is ALWASY dead in a few months anyway they my NOT have anything for V and instead have you make another character.

I sure hope I am wrong, after the credits roll as I am floating to the casino at that moment I was very upset I could not finish that mission but then hopeful it was going to be DLC.

But I do not think so...

Great accomplishments, all, and glad you all enjoyed your journeys and experiences in Night City and the world around it. The beauty of gaming is that it can mean so much in so many different ways to each individual, all using the same product but with different mind-sets, goals and satisfactions.

Me, I'm a dedicated singleton, eschewing totally the relationship aspects of games, and preferring to as much as possible avoid linear plot lines and story progression. I'm more akin to a 'Highlander' style individual who just wants to explore the immersive world, suspend RL reality, take in the views, sounds and enjoy the combat thrills of fighting my corner when needed. Not interested in the romances, nor having an 'ending', the most important thing for me is continuing to exist and being able to access the cyberpunk world as a persistent virtual universe whenever I want. I'm into the virtual world of cars, fashions, mansions, guns, blades, nightlife, adventure and combat, and exploring, immersion, and documenting my experience, or just feeling that I am lost inside 'Blade Runner' world.

I've played 127.2 hrs, which doesn't seem a lot yet, still exploring the unlocked map and modding the game in at least a dozen ways, and as far the linear storyline I've not even done The Heist yet...!!! I don't like 'endings' maybe that's why so many game worlds I play in with my character as near to ' me' as I can get are more online persistent universes rather than storyline games, Eve Online, Entropia, and similar. I've been the same in Skyrim for many years and never much progressed the story. To me, the other side of the screen is a Tron universe, it's more a 'Second Life' thing, and I'd most like to see a 'VR' version of CB2077 (on the lines of 'Caprica' one day) and roam Night City like a rogue replicant, so, I hope they come out with changes and avenues for new adventures and more interactions with even more varied environments and digital inhabitants in the next year or few

Congrats OP, after I saw one ending I went back and started clearing the map of gigs and side missions from the top down, thinking that would unlock the other endings for me(?).

Then I ran into a few more bugs and decided to give it up, uninstall and wait for a few more patches. But damn if it isn't hard to not want to get back into NC and explore the rest of the map, the patches can't come soon enough :(

I suppose the game is what you make of it..

I myself have over 350hrs in Game, have seen all of the endings (including the save / not save Takemura variations)
only have 1 Achievement left to get in game (the 30 Quickhacks one).

the second run-through of the heist was far more enjoyable than the first, as you know what's coming and can appreciate the other little details of the mission / surroundings.

I enjoy playing the game with different builds to see how the gameplay varies, and am enjoying the modding additions (HMG with infinite ammo is insane fun)

I can't imagine doing that. I'm going to start again, with a male V, build a completely different build, and tackle the story in a different way to get a different ending.

This sounds great. It's why I'm hoping that at some point they add some kind of end game content. Like borderlands 3 / destiny 2 ish type thing where you can have gameplay loops and grind for gear, and pretty much remain in the world without hitting a dead end.
Don't know how likely it is, but who knows?

Anyway, nice to see the OP and others have gotten a good experience from the game, as I know not everyone did. (Personally I enjoyed it, but would like to see more if that's possible.)

I have all options open to me by saving before the point of no return. So I'm ok with that. I have most, if not all, legendary clothing specs, weapons, and armor. I did everything else like I want. So I'm setup pretty well.
