Graphical Enhancements – yep, it has those, too!

IGN has posted a new text dev diary from CDP RED’s Daniel Sadowski and Karol Zajaczkowski that discusses some of the visual improvements that have been made in The Witcher: Enhanced Edition. Also, if you want to see how some of those changes play out in the game, check out the exclusive video once you’re done reading. Or the other way around. Or just watch it, then read later. Or read now and never watch. Just think of the different possibilities!

Can't wait to see the unique models of Jethro, Reverend, Carmen, Adam, Julian, Olaf, the Hermit in action... and check if there really no nobleman shows up in pink trousers ;D

huh...well it's nice and all that... BUT : from the bottom of my heart I hope that soon enough a kind modder offers a tip to restore Carmen original look : I'm very familiar with the first one and that "Jennifer Aniston" thing... it's just not her :wall:

There was a special intension to favour Carmen with a new unique look: you shouldn't confuse her with the other hookers from the temple quarter because she is something special

Looks great but...Games for Windows? The older shots of the Enhanced Edition box looked stunning but the Games for Window logo just ruins the whole cover. I was going to buy the EE but now I think I will just download the extra stuff. Just to be clear, I merely wanted to express my opinion and not try to flame or anything, I like The Witcher a lot and these new changes will undoubtedly make it even better - a lot better.

I agree, it kinda ruins the image, but I'm gonna wait and check the download size before I get too set in my ways :) But the vid looks brilliant, now I'm all excited! Again! 2 weeks to go! ;D

Out of curiosity though - are the randomised colours persistant or regenerated every time one enters the region for non-primary characters?Eg: You go to the brickmakers village for the first time and you have a guy in a green shirt. You go back to Vizima, then return to the swamp again - does he still have a green shirt, or is the colour regenerated again (now he's wearing a pink, orange or purple shirts)? It wouldnt be a problem for the "generic NPC nobodies" inhabiting the city, but for some secondary NPCs using generic models (the novice nurse, the bandit who lures you to the 'haunted house', Shani's landlady, the Vizima gardener, etc it could cause headaches.Though from the video - actually having some variety of drowners actually make me somewhat happy to face them again. :)

Wow, even drowners look different. ;DBtw., Geralt still can't walk forwards. Not that I mind, but many people seem to do... :p

This is no a problem for me. If one brickmaker wears a green shirt and next time Geralt return he wears a red shirt I conclude he does his laundry :beer:I even welcome if some characters change clothes in particular in the Icy plains, a place you assume to be chilly and cold. Neverheless Triss and Shani wear their light dresses... especially Triss ;D
