Just barely. Major difference is how you interact with the environment in 2077 vs Witcher 3. They are similar in that NPC's appear to have reasons for walking around and/or doing things, but it's actually much more static and less dense than 2077. Also imagine inserting cars into Witcher 3 and you have a whole new experience. The big comparison made between 2077 and GTA is that GTA is simply better at what it does, but that's because CDPR is new to this, imo. You wouldn't compare GTA to Witcher 3, would you?
In appearance or apparently, yes, they are similar here and there. But behind the appearance there is the essence or a giant world that tells us about engine, resources, etc ...
GTA V has an equally massive world in size. You can ride horizontally, fly vertically etc - so degrees of freedom are actually higher. Cyberpunk has more "inside buildings" content, balconies etc from the game world perspective which adds the complexity for sure. The items mentioned in comparison were all doable for sure - but for some reason were overlooked.

No, because the activities in GTA 5 are quite different - more similar to CP 2077, some directly comparable. Witcher 3 is less dense vertically - but your freedom to go vertically in CP2077 is limited at this point as you cannot freely climb, fly etc. For meaningful NPCs that do meaningful things (merchants, preachers, crowd gatherings etc) I would not say that CP 2077 is somehow superior or more complex vs W3. Gameworld is bigger in Witcher 3, but simpler in structure.
What I mean is they managed to deliver a lovely polished game with Witcher 3 - why go backwards on a lot of those things (like user interface, quality of side quests, even side activities etc.) in Cyberpunk?
These videos showcase basic physics and issues that should not exist considering CDPR's advertisement. No one is saying that the two games are the exact same. That topic is completely irrelevant.
What is relevant, is the level of embarrassing CB's AI is, the level of embarrassment, rag dolling, clipping, shit disappearing when you look away and turn back to it, cars and people off in the distance literally vanishing in thin air, you and your car randomly being launched into the air, cars and people appearing in front of you, police randomly spawning behind you, then forgetting why they were there, and other non sensible occurrences are. And the "best AI seen in gaming" has two generic dialogue lines, and hilarious (in a bad way) reactions to what happens around and to them.
Sure there are some areas of beautiful graphics. I have the game on PC and console. However, there are some aspects of this game that are laughable, and similar to what I'd expect out of a 2012 action and adventure game. That is what these videos help illustrate. Talking about story and genre is completely irrelevant to this

I'm not defending the current state of the game but literally no other developer out there has the time and resources Rockstar does. They're almost triple the team size and spent 3-4 years longer on RDR2 than CDPR did on 2077. They're so self indulgent that they make horse balls shrink in the cold and tires blow-up from overheating - details that have zero impact on gameplay. And while I think Cyberpunk needs to have more of the reactive AI and detail we see in GTA, it's fundamentally a much different game. A better comparison to Cyberpunk would be Fallout 4.

Its a FALSE (light way) or unfair (to me) compairson, you talk about 2 diferent engines, etc... just it explain my point. But if you wanna qualify something in this way, GTA is terrible, to me, its not like Star Citizen in my view or Elite Dangerous... a serious games...wait, what is my parameters to compare, only my taste? Understand now?
Le me put it more clear: Cyberpunk is Cyberpunk, a mature RPG game open world with actions elements. GTA (to me) its a game to kids shoot pedestrians... or destruct a city... for no reasons, no one... in my opinion.

This game was sold on PC for its graphics and ray tracing. They don't have anything to do with gameplay either. The difference is Rockstar delivered more than just horse balls, they delivered a highly polished and complete game.

In what ways? GTA literally does everything better. And it came out years ago. Whilst GTA has been out for years, so you can't really compare the amount of content...You can objectively point out that GTA was released with better physics, ran better on consoles, and a boat load of more content.
Zero choices, no character progression, shit combat, Night City looks better (only speaking of the look of the city and not the dynamic life within it.)
Can't say the AI is much better, it just not as broken, it's still awfully stupid but works.

To me, Cyber is superior in every single detail...but, to me. About AIs, i dont expect much to a game like Cyber, but i read something in a German site, someone from CD say something like 'we ll improve it'. I ll wait

Agree, the content and purpose is different. Game mechanics are very similar though in a lot of gameplay elements, and those mechanics don't work properly in CP2077. Other things do. Complexity and engine is irrelevant - this has to do with development choices, but should not translate to inferior customer experience.
Finally someone made a good comparison video between GTA 5 AI & attention to details vs Cyberpunk 2077 and what the AI behavior should have be like but of course we all want "better" obviously as they have promised, it also shows attention to details too feel more immersed in the city of gta 5 . this proofs how embarrassingly Cyberpunk 2077 was underdeveloped when it comes too AI behavior & attention to details. hopefully we will get immersive AI behaviors & attention to details in the future.. but of course "better" like they have promised and said : we've greatly enhanced our crowd and community systems to create the most believable city in any open-world game to date..

Engine certainly is irrelevant to me a as a customer - why do I care if it's RedEngine 4 or Blue Engine 7? I'm not a developer, not a modder - just a gamer. Complexity is difficult to define between similar but different games - I can't with certainty say which one is more complex - both are not simple.

Never been a fan of gta, simply because of the setting, and have always been a huge fan of the witcher and now of cyberpunk because i like stories and meaningful characters. and all these gta vs cyberpunk videos talk about what's better in gta, but they purposely don't talk about what cyberpunk does better. So at the end of the day just play what u like, and ofcourse i hope they improve some things, but the essence of the game is the story and the story is there.
As the scene unfolds according to the script, police shoot the characters and call more and more reinforcements to try to shoot them down, but they don't die before the scene ends and are extremely injured while talking. A great example of this case was captured by user "ayebeast" in a dialogue between Franklin and Trevor.

That's better than the police turning friendly and vanishing. Or just spawning out of thin air. You can literally joy toy your way out of 4 stars. Or if you stand there long enough, police AI will sometimes randomly leave combat and walk away.

To me, at last, its not a 'competition' And both game have quality and some things bad, etc... anyway, to me, Cyber still better bcuse the fiction. I dont like GTA.
