Gta vs cyberpunk

Cdpr is worth more than rockstar is at this point, if I'm not mistaken. CDPR is by no means a "small" company.

Edit: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CD_Projekt#:~:text=By September 2017, it was,in Europe ahead of Ubisoft.

taken with a grain of salt
If that is the reference site then take a look at the revenue of both companies.
CD Projekt
521.2 million (2019)

521,200,000 Poland złoty equals
142,732,444.20 United States Dollar

Take-Two Interactive
US$3,099.394 million

3,099 million is a bigger company than 142 million.

GTA has no competitor, except the GTA itself.
in the current state of Cyberpunk... even GTA SA is better than CP77 in many ways lol
I like Cyberpunk, mixing technology with organism this is very interesting for me.
I hope CDPR improves the game a lot more, I don't say because of current bugs, but because of game details like pedestrians in cars getting angry if you stay in front

And in the ways that are Important for CDRED like Story Telling in main Quests and Side Stories its way lacking...GTA is wonderful to wreck chaos

Unfortunately these videos are true in what they show. Cyberpunk has a pretty engaging story which is nice, CDPR are awesome at that. But this game is far too focused on graphics to the point in which the gameplay & world is shockingly skin deep. There is a real lack of life in the AI, world and just general detail which really takes away the immersion for me. The Witcher 3's world is/was far better.

Yah I can deal with the dumb ai pedestrians and vehicles who stay put when you park in front of them stead of going around but the other day I was playing and there were 2 npcs sticking up a store owner. Since they didn't aggro me I let em live. Several game days later I had a side job nearby and happened to walk past that shop again and there they were still holding up the same shopkeeper, ugh, lol

The thing that really bothers me is Cyberpunk doesn't look that much better than GTA 5, which was released 7 years ago. It's not the effects and processing, it's the bad textures and chonky models. They could do a lot better than this if they put the time and effort into it.

I agree with you but for a developer who focused only on medieval/fantasy game it’s not that bad even with all the problems that the game has is still fascinating to me

I saw the vids on youtube and it's true that GTAV does what it does better. But they know.
Also, it's kinda like spitting on a corpse by posting these tbh.

Anyway... that's why I thought Cyberpunk should never even think of competing with GTA on that open world gameplay style. In my humble opinion they should focus on that unique world's vibe and reinforce roleplaying elements to the max there.

But then time was up. And then censorship pressure. So much work deleted. I just can't anymore...

They know they fkd up and I want to give them a break, but at the same time I am afraid if I (or we) don't speak, the newly decided direction might be wrong once again.

Am I even expressing the majority? No idea. Can't know. Don't want to be the demanding minority that wants to change the world according to their delusional liking. Peace

It's not a good idea to compare both games, yes they look similar, they have car driving mechanics but Rockstar is way too experienced and Cyberpunk doesn't aim to be another GTA.

If I were to criticize Cyberpunk, I would base it on other RP games, not GTA. For example, it is more important to criticize the immersion deficiencies than to criticize the reaction of the physics when shooting at a vehicle tire.

While it looks bad comparing these two games ppl fail to realize certain things.

How did Rockstar start and how many decades (yes decades) did they have to grow and get experience in what they do best.
How did CDP start and how many decades did they have to grow and get experience in what they do best.

And the answer is this.
Rockstar was founded in 1998.
Made games like
- GTA 1 to 5 (over decades from 1997 back then the company was called DMA North till 2001 which got renamed to Rockstar North to 2015 with the last GTA 5)
- Max Payne
- Oni
- Body Harvest
- L.A. Noire
- Red Dead Redemption Franchise.

CDP was founded in 1988 (as Optimus)
Made games like
- The Witcher Franchise (2007 - 2016)
- Gwent
- Thronebreaker
- Cyberpunk 2077

To make matters worse while Rockstar has an experienced dev team on their hands with hundreds of ppl who literally have decades of experience at one type of game and some of them even there who worked from GTA to GTA 5 in the same company!
CDP does not have that luxury and lacks years of experience in that regard. Rockstar also has multiple studios while CDP is one.

So while it looks horrible in comparing those 2 you also have to add the fact that one company literally did many different games for decades while the other did just one type of game but in that one game no one did it better.
Yet when you compare those 2 you also have to add that GTA 5 has many years of service/ updates and fixes that no one likes to adress. Cause if you watch at a release GTA 5 you can experience lots of stuff that is not working as intended. But somehow that video does not adress the problems when GTA 5 launched which there was plenty to see.

There is at least 1 vid I've seen comparing Cyberpunk to GTA where they showed how Cyberpunk was superior in many ways too. The end of the vid showed a side-by-side of a car blowing up, and the explosion looked so much better in Cyberpunk it wasn't even close.

These kind of vids are made just to start flame wars anyway. Comparing apples to oranges always gets you sour grapes. As much as I hate Rockstar and their shitty Online versions of otherwise good single player games, literally anyone can make comparison vids and make one game look bad.

Anyways, the clickbait worked. Carry on with the flame war.

I think the graphics are a lot better. What's your specs? I got to assume you running mostly on medium quality settings

Perhaps Rockstar should have made CyberPunk 2077. No....seriously. How old is GTA V and it still out performs CyberPunk in almost every way that matters.

It must be very irritating to HATERS the hundreds of awards that the CD has had throughout its history ... including other companies that hope for the failure of the CD ...

I couldn't say these are completely comparable. But GTA is far better IMO but obviously it doesn't have dialogue options, character customizations, etc.
I would maybe compare CP2077 to maybe Outer Worlds, which again IMO I prefer that game over CP2077, not environment wise but the only thing CP2077 has going for me is the environment.

GTA I don't see having a real competitor and this game was never going to be it anyway.

Lol, no one is a hater of cd. We are people who want a complete game. and not to be randomly launched into the air, landing on a cop, having 15 cops spawn behind me and kill me/ (that literally just happened to me). I hate that, yes
