GTX970 Increase Temps and Usage after patch 1.10

As the title says, I have a 970, and noticed a significant increase in both temperature and % of total power usage after the last patch. My temps used to sit around the 40celcius mark in menus, and anywhere from 58-65 in game.
Usage used to be around 73-80%.
Now the temp has shot up to 70 in game, and was showing as 68 in the menu when I re-doing my key bindings. I do think this might have been an error, as when I pressed 'back' to go to the menu, the temp showed 38, then shot up to 70 again when I 'resumed'.
Fans at over 2200, and they never went above 2000. The GPU usage is from 90-99%.
My CPU temps in all 4 cores are also up by around 5-8degs.

I have NOT changed any graphics settings in the game, nor tweaked ini graphic files. Nothing has changed apart from the new patch.
I'm on NVidia driver 355.60.
Even putting some of the graphics down makes no difference.

I know there was mention in the patch notes about better performance on the 980s, and this is all well and good, but I can't understand why it would affect things so badly for everyone else.
I've never had a problem with this game from day dot, it's been running surprisingly well, and now this. I won't push my hardware, and with summer just around the corner, this is going to unplayable. Starting to regret pre-purchasing the expansion...

What the heck is going on? And is anyone else having performance issues?

Yeap same performance here. Very similar figures to what you have on a 970 (MSI). I did update to the latest driver, the one that came out for Battlefront Beta. Additionally whilst my GPU usage is generally between 90-99% (Usually 99%) it does drop down into the single digits much more often after 1.10. My temps today whilst playing were actually in the low to mid 70s. Visually the game does look better for me, a lot softer, sometimes looks a little washed out though. FPS has also stayed roughly the same as before the patch.

Mine's the Gigabyte G1.
I just updated my driver to the latest one, 358.50 i think it is, yes the Battlefront one.
Now I'm getting FPS drops in places that I didn't before. I was mostly on 60 everywhere apart from Novigrad, Skellige and Kaer Morhen, all which are understandable. Before the patch I had started New Game+, and I'm dropping to 50 in places around White Orchard, but mostly to 55. That's a drop of 10FPS!!! That's a lot!
Temperature-wise, things haven't gotten much better. Though I was around 65-68. But the FPS... ugh.

I never had a problem with this game before, it ran butter-smooth. I can deal with occasional FPS drops, but not all the time, stuttering the game, and the temps are concerning.

I've not overclocked anything either. Ugh. I'm hoping this is case of tweaking some settings in NVidia's panel or something... because I'm :(

If you're experiencing performance issues:
- remove your ini tweaks
- verify your game files
- if you're on GOG remove d3d11.dll from Witcher3.exe folder.
After this I'm back to where I was before patching (with bigger VRAM utilisation though - 960 user here)

First 2 are done after the patch.
But I can't find the d3d... file. Do you know the exact default location?

EDIT - never mind, found it. Now to test...

To the Moderators - this thread can be closed/deleted, as there is already a performance issue thread, that I totally missed prior to posting this.
