If you are the type to rush through the main quest, and have no desire to get all the possible best gear, this might help you. Here is how to defeat Imlerith just by learning his moveset and the 2 phases, even with a toothpick if you so wish.

hardly an easy task... plus, seems like this build had high level of quen as single hit didnt depleted it whole.. in my first playthrough, single hit was enough to completely destroy quen, so it was not so easy to defeat him.. plus, one mistake and you are as good as dead, while you need to land at least 10 successful attacks against him during second stage...
